Overall the trip is quite nice, only the fan can be squeaky, but air conditioning works fine, bathroom is okay, only the water heater knob can be sometimes not functioning. Parking space can be find easily
I stayed one night at Hotel Lutana. It was a little out of the town center, a 20 minute walk. I had my own room and my own bathroom with hot water and air conditioning. No breakfast, but they had coffee and biscuits. It was very clean and the woman at the front desk (Rita) was incredibly nice and helpful. It is small, but that adds to its charm.
The place is far away from the city center and from the airport, no sightseeing around, even no money exchanges, but the service was nice, the staff is understanding and helpful! The hotel should be renovated though, but it was the cheapest place, when I booked it
ZZhong忠哥哥I check out before 1pm and the reception told me the hotel rules customer should be check-out at 12:50 or I'll be compound rm10 for late check-out, later I show my booking history and it says check-out time was 1pm then she started apologize because she was mistaken and told me she don't know about trip.com and says that it should be 12:50 on Agoda and return my money as well.. but when I check on Agoda the checkout time was still 1pm.. what she trying to do with it?
ผผู้เข้าพัก*Honest Review: Comfortable Stay but Disappointing Service Transparency*
Me and a group of colleagues chose Wendu Inn during our recent work trip to Kota Belud, and I’d like to share an honest review—not just a general star rating—because the experience was a mix of excellent and disappointing aspects.
Pros: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
• The check-in process was smooth and efficient.
• Cleanliness and room comfort are top-notch—definitely 5-star worthy, especially for a small town like Kota Belud.
• The view from the café and the convenience of having a minimart downstairs were truly added bonuses.
• We genuinely appreciated the effort put into making the place cozy and welcoming.
But here comes the downside:
We booked our rooms with breakfast included, which is supposed to be served at their café. However, this was where things went wrong.
1️⃣ When we went for breakfast, there was no proper display or explanation about the free breakfast options. What was openly displayed was a menu with both breakfast (no prices shown) and lunch items (with prices).
The actual complimentary breakfast choices were hidden away in a folder behind the counter—not visible to guests. Naturally, thinking the displayed breakfast options were part of our package, we made our choices and presented our coupons at the counter. The staff accepted the coupons without saying a word. Only after finishing our meals were we surprised with a bill, leaving us feeling misled and frustrated.
2️⃣ The counter staff’s customer service was below expectations.
When we requested an official receipt for work claims, we were repeatedly told to refer to the booking website. Even after explaining that we needed an original stamped receipt, the answer was simply: “We don’t have an original stamp.”
For a hotel catering to business travelers, this lack of basic documentation support is quite inconvenient.
Final thoughts:
Would I recommend Wendu Inn? Yes—for comfort, cleanliness, and its peaceful surroundings.
But be prepared to double-check details around your package (especially meals), and don’t expect much assistance from the front desk when it comes to paperwork or clarifications.
GGero SGH Benjamin is located in a quieter area, up a steep slope and away from the city's hustle and bustle. It's a beautiful area to wake up to the mountains and would be a wonderful spot if it makes a few improvements to the space and amenities.
1) The spring bed is terribly firm, you can also feel the springs through the bed. The clothes rack was also almost going to fall apart.
2) The ventilator was not working so the moisture of the toilet came into the room instead, making it very moist.
3) The water kettle we were provided almost caught fire as smoke was coming out of the plug. Thankfully we caught it in time. When we reported this to the reception and asked if they want to get someone to check, we only got an ”Ok”. Perhaps it's a language barrier but it wasn't reassuring that the next traveller would be safe.
4) It would be nice to provide at least one chair in the room. It'll also be nice to have a seating area outside of the container cabin so people can enjoy the view of the mountains.
OOlgaZolotukhinaAmazing place in the middle of the jungle!
Very friendly and supportive staff, AC was good. Wifi also worked everywhere (we stayed closer to the pool)
It was good enough to have online classes.
We found there gooses, amazing birds, turtles.
