RRobertKona Village is just the best! When we arrived we were taken on a cart tour of the resort by the bellman Shanen, who dropped us off at “Hale 1” - one of only two legacy hales. At our first turndown service, the housekeeping staff left an entire collection of 7 refrigerator magnets. The outstanding service continued at the activity shed Kilo Kai, where one day Cam took us out on a private snorkeling expedition and the next day ‘Pu took me out canoe paddling and set me up on a stand up paddle board. We attended the Island Roots dinner the night of our arrival - the food was excellent and we were all seated at one table so the interactions with the other guests were easy and pleasant. Staff members Jose and Daniela dined with us, as if welcoming us to their home. We were there to celebrate my wife’s milestone birthday, and when we arrived at our room late that night they left a bottle of champagne and mini birthday cake for us. The pools and on site restaurants were great. All around excellent from start to finish.
ผผู้เข้าพักThis was the best value hotel we stayed at during our stay (we also stayed at Hawaiian Village and Aulani). Location, quality of service and amenities. Had enough to keep kids entertained without being as overwhelmingly busy at Hilton. Enough space to relax, the onsite beach is small but always empty. Fitness centre is big. Only issue was wifi connectivity - lacked solid connection in either the room or generally around the resort however the hotel kindly gave us a portable device for free which helped somewhat. Highlights included kids cinema and movie, pool tables and other free games and walking distance from downtown with some of the best restaurants (highly advised to book ahead).
ผผู้เข้าพักWell it’s just time for a renovation at the Grand Wailea. All the little slides to connect each pool are closed. The Grotto spa is closed. Phone in the room didn’t work and keys stopped working on the first day for the door. With that said it’s still a nice place and can still have plenty of fun. If you haven’t been in a year or more, you will probably be disappointed. We normally go every year for at least one day and it’s slowly declining. The attached pic is considered ocean view just for reference.
ผผู้เข้าพักThe room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed with all the amenities you'd expect from a hotel of this caliber. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I appreciated the quality linens and the range of pillows available. The bathroom was modern with a powerful shower and plenty of toiletries. The only minor downside was the view – I had a room overlooking the parking lot, but that didn’t detract from the overall comfort of the stay.
ผผู้เข้าพักIt’s not a bad hotel. But it’s far from extraordinary and simply put: not worth the price. For USD 1300+ per night without anything I neither like roaches in the bathroom nor bird poo on me within minutes sitting in their lounge. After all I came to a hotel - not a zoo… And I dislike humid smell and limited fan-steering for the AC as well.
So honestly said - I would not go again
