The reception was very helpful. They kept our luggage for two days after we checked out. There’s a nice pizza restaurant across the hotel and we loved the pasta & pizzas. The room was clean and had a small balcony where we watched the stars. The plugs were old ones with three holes so make sure you have the right adapter.
Very nice hotel. Short walking distance from city center. Friendly stuff, comfortable bed, very good breakfast.
The only problem was a bad smell that came from the bathroom. The hotel should handle it ASAP.
Lovely hotel, super convenient to public transportations to both Venice and Venice Mestre station.
The room is larger than photos. It is acceptably quiet even on the ground level.
Hotel staff are super nice, they even helped me with heavy luggages.
A few things to make this place better;
1. Ensure to have complete list of what needs to be in the room. For example, my room didn’t have kettle.
2. There are missing spots left uncleaned, bathroom ventilation fan, and glass door, for example.
3. Please check hair dryer.
4. Some smokers (ignored the sign) left the door to parking lot opened…cigarette smells got into the hotel.
This was my 4th stay at Hotel Ca d’Oro. The location is perfect for exploring Venice and the outer islands.
The room was smaller than the others I have previously stayed in, but still relatively comfortable. The hotel has a good breakfast.
One complaint is that the room was extremely hot - air conditioning is restricted by the hotel.
I had originally booked 2 rooms and attempted to cancel one, with the hotel refusing to refund. They also ignored my requests both via message and in person to the restaurant and receptionist to upgrade the room to a larger one (since I was paying for 2 rooms and only using 1). I have never had issues cancelling when using other booking platforms in the past, and for this reason I won’t use Trip.com for significant hotel bookings in the future.
AAdam23We had a great experience staying at this hotel! Although it's rated as a three-star property, keep in mind that it’s three stars in Venice—which is definitely not the same as a three-star elsewhere. The charm and quality here exceeded our expectations.
You won’t find a lot of reviews about this hotel, but I did come across a YouTube vlog by a mother who shared her family stay here. She said it was a really good choice—and she turned out to be absolutely right!
We booked a Prestige Room with Canal View and specifically requested Room 101, which we saw on TikTok or YouTube (can't recall exactly where). The photos already impressed us, but the reality was even better. The ceiling was much higher than expected, which gave the room a beautiful, airy feel. The hotel still shows older pictures online, with an outdated TV, but we were happy to find a newer TV already installed.
The amenities were excellent—truly some of the best I’ve experienced in a hotel of this category. Breakfast was on the smaller side, but absolutely sufficient. The cakes and pastries were quite decent, and having them in such a beautiful, old-style interior made it feel like we were stepping back in time—in the best way possible.
A huge shoutout to the staff, who were all genuinely kind and accommodating. We felt their hospitality in even the smallest gestures, and it was very much appreciated.
Lastly, the location is unbeatable—just a short walk from the Rialto Bridge, close to everything. Being so near the heart of Venice made it easy to go out and explore, then return to rest and recharge. It's also conveniently close to shopping areas, which is a nice bonus.
All in all, this hotel was a hidden gem. If you're looking for a stay that combines charm, comfort, location, and authentic Venetian vibes, this is a fantastic choice. That mother on YouTube was right—it really is a great choice!
ผผู้เข้าพักWe arrived at the most expensive hotel (AU$1600 for 3nts, 2 adults) we had ever stayed at, there was no lift to our room on the 1st floor.
I struggled to carry 2 suitcases with no assistance from the gentleman in reception up to the 1st-floor room. This would be very difficult if we were older & unable to carry our cases.
The wi-fi didn't work in the bedrooms only in the public areas - even though we were told it would.
The bedroom had multiple squashed mosquitos on the walls next to the bed.
The lace curtain had a couple of cigarette burns on it.
The bedcover had a cigarette burn on it.
The telephone handset cable was not connected to the .telephone - I tried to fix it but it wouldn't stay in the socket.
The safe was not working.
The instructions to use the safe were so old & worn out you couldn't read them.
The shower wouldn't work properly, so I had to call the person in reception to assist us in getting it working.
You had to get out of the shower cubicle to retrieve shower gel/shampoo/soap. There was nowhere in the shower to put these items. There was no room in the shower at all. I moved the stool in the bathroom to put my shower gel on it & two legs fell off the stool.
The toilet roll holder wouldn't hold the toilet roll and it kept falling off.
The bathroom bin was broken and filthy
The breakfast ran until 10 am, the bread ran out & was not replaced & this was before 9 am.
I am a travel agent & book many guests to stay in cities around the world including Venice
I was upset that this hotel was an extremely poor standard and felt like it ruined the end of my beautiful holiday in Italy.
We would be extremely grateful if you could offer us a credit for our next hotel booking with trip.com, we are in the process of booking our November Asia tour.
Kindest regards
HHJaraWhat a pleasant surprise! Location is great only 5 minutes walk from train station. There is one bridge to walk over, easy enough to do with a luggage bag and depending on the time of day/night there are baggage porters at the station whom can take the luggage for a small fee (approximately $5 per bag)
Rooms smaller in size approx 19sqm fitted a Queen and single just enough room to accommodate our minimal time spent in it mostly sleeping as we were out and about exploring anything and everything. No view but window could open and the AC worked well. Small TV and the shower over bath was a bonus also had body wash and hand wash, towels with heated towel rack. Again small but enough for what we needed. View rooms also available. Level 1 and 2 have stairs (no lift) but the staff will assist if you ask however everyone including us took our own luggage.
Great checkin and then meet Angel the following morning whom was able to extend us for two more nights and keep us in the same room. The breakfast was ample consisting of tea/coffee,juice, fruits, pastries, bread with options to toast, deli plate hams, cheeses, tomatoes and the usual Nutella,Jams etc my favourite yogurt and granola/oats.
Best of all location, get a 24,48 or longer public boat pass to use throughout your stay and also takes you to Murano and Burano.
Location,Location,Location!
