Stargazer's Cabin is a lovely little one bedroom cabin with a kitchenette including a dining table and there is a lounge as well. Shower and toilet . The sun warms the lounge through the sliding glass doors. There's a oil heater for the winter.The bed is a double bed and a third person can sleep on the sofa in the lounge (it does not make into a bed but is a normal sofa). Creighton's Cottage is a self-contained cabin situated near the mouth of the Paturau River. It's a basic kiwi bach that provides a comfortable, warm base for anyone wanting to explore the beautiful west coast of Golden Bay. The cabin can accommodate up to six people, with two double beds and two single beds. Bring your own bedding (pillows provided).The kitchen includes an oven/stove, a microwave and a fridge/freezer, and the bathroom has a shower, vanity and washing machine. The Lavatory is a good old kiwi long drop, but one with style and a view! There is no phone or internet reception at the cabin, but a three-minute drive up the road will reconnect you with the outside world. This now serves as a characterful sleepout and sits behind the main bach which is located beside an estuary. The large section is quiet, bush-clad, bird-filled and has superb inlet and mountain views. The bach is private and open plan - think designer retro-pacific styled tramping hut! Beds are in the loft and on the ground floor with no doors between. The bach's size, character and proximity to stunning beaches help make it a wonderful holiday destination for couples or small families.There is great mobile phone reception at the bach.Extra features include nearby migratory godwits and other wonderful bird life, including little blue penguins who are rarely seen but often heard and nest under the library sleep-out or wood pile. Plentiful cockles and pipi are a short stroll away at low tide. There are also a superb selection of natural history, children's and other fiction books, a large record collection, gas hot water and stove top, kayaks, paddle board, an outside bath and a composting indoor toilet. This house was built and designed by owner, who has taken exceptional care to locate the building for sun and aspect. Well in the view scape but out of the predominant winds.A short 3 to 4 minute walk to the beach. This home is compact but exceptional. High ceilings lined in moranti. Double glazed, green tinted glass make this house warm and inviting. The two queen bedrooms both lead too small super functional bunk room, designed for children. The tiled bathroom has been newly installed featuring large shower, vanity and toilet. There is a separate toilet off the laundry, not placing too much pressure on facilities. The outdoor shower is fantastic after a day on the beach to rinse the sand off.The kitchen is well appointed with all modern features, including dishwasher and ice maker fridge freezer. Outdoor furniture include table, umbrella, and seating 6. Extra seating at side of house, along with weber BBQ. 2 x Sun loungers also on deck. The rear of the section houses a separate room with king bed, and fold out stretcher. An outdoor plug, and rear light making pitching a small tent on the lawn a possibility. A negotiated tarrif is avalable for extended maximum people if the tenting options is required for that extra family.Wifi included.
