The owners and employees at this hotel are so, so lovely. Unfortunately their hotel is not. I almost feel catfished as many of the photos highlighted the bar and pool party atmosphere. This was not the case - the pool was a decent size but in the shade and I actually didn’t see anyone in it. The pool party drinking shots I highly suspect were perhaps not a genuine source. The same goes for the bar which is massive and attended to by several lovely young, bored gentlemen as both times I popped up (once for dinner) I was the only patron. Again no party atmosphere or even people - which is a shame as it is a big venue. Fortunately next door was another venue for some decent cocktails and music which saved the boredom somewhat. The bedroom was a decent size with a small fridge (but didn’t work), the bathroom was small, felt dirty, no hand soap or soap for the shower (apart from leftover previous occupants - and that was gross). The pressure was poor making showering difficult and there was plaster on the floor from some damage - not cleaned up. The bed was massive and comfortable with air conditioning and a fan so sleep was good. Finally, and to repeat, the staff were lovely. Very hospitable and the location is about a ten minute walk to the Sacred Tooth Temple and Kandy Lake. So great location. Would I stay there again - no. Would I pop in to say hello to the owners and next door for a cocktails - possibly!

My wife and I stayed here during our trip to Sri Lanka, choosing it because of the great ratings on Google. The location is a little outside of town, so you’ll need to take a tuktuk to get there. It costs less than USD3, and honestly, riding through Nuwara Eliya on a tuktuk was part of the fun. The guesthouse itself feels like a large bungalow with several rooms, designed with a classic British-style interior. Our room was one floor up, not very big but cozy and just right for our stay. The highlight was the balcony that faced the lake, where we could watch the sunrise in the morning. At night, the temperature dropped to around 13°C, so we didn’t even need air conditioning. The water heater worked well, and the bathroom was spacious and comfortable. One thing I wished for was indoor slippers. The floor got very cold at night, so I had to wear socks, which was manageable but slippers would have been nicer. The caretaker was warm and welcoming. He greeted us with hot tea on arrival, which felt amazing in the chilly weather. Breakfast was simple but good. Since we checked out early, he prepared an American-style breakfast for us. Overall, it was a pleasant stay with beautiful views, kind hospitality, and a peaceful atmosphere.

現地で知り合ったバックパッカーとこのホテルを2人で利用した。寝るだけなら良い場所である。 WiFiが上の階だと弱いのと、このホテルに行くには坂を登る必要がある。 しかし、キャンディ市内へのアクセスは良く、湖のほとりを歩ける点が良かった。また、たまたま行くまでの道にゾウが居て試乗させて貰えたので私は満足している。

โรงแรมที่ดี ทําเลเยี่ยม สะดวกมาก – ถัดจากสวนสาธารณะเกรกอรีและวิคตอเรีย ทุกอย่างในการเข้าถึงแบบก้าว ในโรงแรมยกเว้นห้องพักมีพื้นที่ส่วนกลางที่คุณสามารถรองรับและพักผ่อนได้อย่างสะดวกสบาย จากหน้าต่างห้อง มองเห็นหุบเขาทั้งเมืองนูวารา-เอเลียเปิดออก ผมได้เข้าพักที่โรงแรมนี้มาห้าวันแล้ว  สบายมาก เงียบๆ! ยินดีต้อนรับพนักงานฉันได้รับการช่วยเหลือจากสภาและตอบคําถาม ในห้องมีทุกอย่างที่จําเป็น แม้แต่กาน้ําชาและความเป็นไปได้ของการดื่มชา!

ช่างเป็นการพักที่ยอดเยี่ยม! โฮสต์เป็นกันเองและช่วยเหลือดีมาก อาหารเช้าทําสดใหม่ - เป็นวิธีที่น่ารื่นรมย์ในการลองอาหารท้องถิ่น ห้องของฉันดีมากมีอุปกรณ์ครบครันรู้สึกสะอาดและครอบคลุม wifi นั้นยอดเยี่ยม ในระหว่างการเข้าพักครั้งก่อนของฉัน wifi ไม่เสถียร ทําเลที่ตั้งดีมากง่ายต่อการเข้าถึงถนนสายหลักในขณะที่ซ่อนอยู่ในพื้นที่ที่เงียบกว่า มีซูเปอร์มาร์เก็ตท้องถิ่นอยู่ข้างถนน พื้นที่ส่วนกลางและวิวสวยไม่แพ้กันเขียวชอุ่มด้วยต้นไม้เขียวขจี ขอบคุณสําหรับการเข้าพักที่น่ารัก Sarath!

Хозяин очень приветливый, я приехал в начале седьмого утра, но заселил без вопросов, огромное спасибо. Надо учитывать, что дом на холме, из-за этого нет шума с улиц. До центра 10 минут неспешным шагом, но обратно придется ехать на тук-туке. Но это того стоит. Единственный минус - в комнате очень слабый сигнал wi-fi, но у меня был мобильный интернет, поэтому для меня это было непринципиальным. В номере всё есть, чисто, без вопросов.

=====2025-11-10~11===== 位於中央省努沃勒埃利耶的加冕歇息酒店（英文名字是：Carnation Rest），其實也是一家民宿或者B/B酒店，位於城邊上，周邊還有其它酒店、民宿，附近也有超市和商店，感覺周邊環境煙火氣濃厚了很多。 我們的房間是在沿街的一棟別墅的二層，而且是套間，有一大（1.5米）一小（1米）兩張床，房間設施比較齊全，沒有有空調（這裏地勢較高，氣温衹有10-20度，所以也不需要），但有熱水器、電吹風等，套間的客廳裏面有餐具、沙發。房間有些陳舊，但設施用品似乎也很乾凈衞生，床鋪舒適，牙刷牙膏梳子拖鞋等用品是自然沒有（已經非常習慣了）。 旅館的服務員（也是主人、老闆）是幾個非常好的帥哥，十分友善。我們發現周圍沒有像樣的飯店，但有一家大超市，就同帥哥老闆商量用他們的廚房做晚餐。沒想到他二話沒説爽快地答應了，僅僅要求不能烹飪豬肉。於是我們趕緊前往超市購置肉類、蔬菜等食品，以及椰子油和調味品，好好地做了一頓大餐。最後，主人還幫我們把所有的餐具清洗乾淨了。實在有點令人感動。 第二天早上的早餐，大體同前幾天差不多，不過換了酸奶，多了蛋糕。 付款房費時，他們並不收放在攜程美元按金，現場付款了美金現金。 回想起來，這裏的環境比前面有了進步，最起碼可以晚上在外面散步了，尤其是店主人實在是超級友善，我們使用廚房和幫我們清理，並沒有額外收取任何費用，留給人非常美好的印象。

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Ganthera and the staff were friendly however the room itself could have been improved. For example, there was distinct black marks on the walls and some mould in the bathroom but we understand the climate is humid (also some dead bugs). Bed area was clean and satisfactory and we slept well. The front door is locked at night so beware if needing to leave early - staff are not attentive to this. Whilst we did not use the pool area, the view was nice and pool looked good. Overall we enjoyed our stay but would probably not come back.

We had an amazing stay. The house is located at the very top of the hill, so we had the best view from our room. We would also like to thank the lady and Mr. Dinesh, our driver, from the bottom of our hearts, for their help and kindness. He even gave us a gift on our departure🥹 we can’t wait to visit Kandy again!

ราคาของโฮสเทล บริการของโรงแรม ทําเลที่ตั้งค่อนข้างลําเอียง แต่ใช้เวลาเดิน 10 นาทีไปยังทะเลสาบคังผิง และวัดพระเขี้ยวแก้วมากกว่า 20 นาที สิ่งอํานวยความสะดวกใหม่มากและมีระเบียงที่คุณสามารถมองเห็นทิวทัศน์ของแคนดี้ ดูเหมือนจะมีบาร์ที่ชั้นบนสุดซึ่งมีชีวิตชีวามาก และสิ้นสุดเวลาสิบโมงไม่ส่งผลต่อการพักผ่อน สรุปคือคุ้มราคา คุ้มจอง
