We have stayed in many Daiwa Roynet Hotels in Japan, and we’ve trusted the Daiwa Roynet brand very much. However, the Takamatsu property is the worst we’ve experienced so far, and after this stay we will be more cautious about choosing to stay at Daiwa Roynet in the future.
The facilities are very old and urgently need refurbishment. The cleanliness of our room was also quite shocking. There was hair in the bathroom and bathtub, and hair on the pajamas they provided, as shown in the photo. There were stains throughout the room as well. The bedding used is also smaller than the bed as shown in the picture.
If you’re planning day trips to the islands, the hotel isn’t very close to the port. There are plenty of shops nearby, though, so the overall location is ok.
Prime location, clean, friendly staff. Used business single, perfect for solo travelers. Some might find it small but if you just chuck your suitcase away it’s not so bad. It has all the essentials.
Ah bathroom toilet might be tight for tall people.
ผผู้เข้าพักWonderful experience. Breakfast and service were very good. It’s situated in a quiet location, about 40 minutes to the city centre and 30 minutes from the port, giving you a real sense of how the locals live.
I’m on a solo journey around the world with Takamatsu being my first stop. I’m so glad I chose this hotel because it really contributed to the wonderful experience. I’m currently on my way to my next destination and I already miss Takamatsu 😭

TtorinessThis little guesthouse is simple but so well priced and met all our needs - mostly its close proximity (15 minutes walk) to both Honnura port area and the start of the Benesse house art zone, the main locations for the absolutely amazing art installations on Naoshima. Room was well sized, clean, secure and warm. The host was very friendly - he even gave us a lift into the Benesse area to give us a great head start on our day, and securely stored our luggage for the day. I would definitely stay here again. For those coming to Naoshima I would recommend staying 2 nights so you are not rushing your time on this beautiful serene island and make sure you book various galleries well in advance, they sell out even in off season!!
MMolly and friendsIt’s not worth that high price we paid. The beds were too short and narrow for a bit taller person despite the view was good. No return bucket for dirty towels and used pyjamas in public hot bathroom. Also guests are required to pay for exchange of new towels. The worst of all, the dinner and breakfast were too cold to serve because they have been left on the table long ago, only hot soup was bring out when guest sitting down. The taste was too bad. No breads and coffee in dinning room for breakfast, persons had to wear their shoes and walk out to another area to get drinks and bread.
I suggest the food is taken out when guests arrived for meals or the hotel can set the meal time for the guests.
