IIlvaplevoirI stayed four nights at Sokchea Kampot Hotel in Kampot. This wasn’t my first time — last year I stayed 10 nights and had a good experience. Unfortunately, this visit felt different. On my first day, after checking in around 3pm and going out for dinner, I returned to find a cockroach walking on my bed — bigger than I would ever want to see. Staff removed it, but it was hard to relax that night. The next day I asked for the sheets to be changed. They only made the bed, and the same stain was still there. After asking a second time and explaining why, they finally replaced them.
That same day, there was no proper housekeeping. The bathroom trash was not emptied, and I had to ask for toilet paper as it wasn’t replaced. For a hotel of this type, I don’t think that’s acceptable. There is also construction next to the hotel, with loud noise from 8am to 5pm, making it less relaxing — especially when trying to enjoy the pool, which is probably the hotel’s main positive point

The rooms are impressively large, giving plenty of space to relax, unpack, and feel at home rather than cramped like in many hotels. The overall design of the property is modern and clean, with a minimalist aesthetic that makes the environment feel fresh and well-maintained.
One of the highlights is the swimming pool, which adds a nice touch for relaxing after a long day. The surrounding area complements the modern design of the residence, creating a pleasant atmosphere to unwind.
However, there are a couple of drawbacks worth noting. The air conditioning can be quite weak, which may make the room less comfortable, especially in hot weather. Additionally, there tend to be quite a lot of mosquitoes around the property, which can be inconvenient if you're sensitive to bites or planning to spend time outdoors.
Overall, Montagne Residence is a good option if you prioritize spacious rooms and modern design, but improvements in cooling and pest control would make the experience much better.

ผผู้เข้าพักI absolutely loved my stay at this resort. The facilities are exceptional — from the stunning swimming pool and the spacious, flower-filled yard with fruit trees, to the well-equipped gym and charming restaurant that serves delicious foods whole day. The outdoor areas are thoughtfully arranged, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere throughout the property.
What truly made our experience special was the hospitality of the staff. In particular, I’d like to mention one of staff Saly, who greeted us with warmth and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfectly arranged. He even connected us with a friendly and English-speaking Khmer tuk-tuk driver who took us on a fantastic private day tour to five major landmarks at a very reasonable price. They helped us to book tickets to Phnom Penh and to use their motorcycle to the downtown.
I’ve uploaded plenty of photos to capture the beauty of this resort — it truly leaves a lasting impression.

AAh Choo 168Peaceful Retreat with Excellent Service
Overall, Bali Villa Kampot is a great place to truly unwind and do nothing for the whole day. The environment is very peaceful and quiet, perfect for relaxing and escaping from the city.
The only setback is the location. Google Maps and Grab do not link directly to the villa, and there are two listings named “Bali Villa Kampot” on the Grab app. If you select the wrong one, you may end up dropped off in a very remote area. It took me some time to figure this out.
That said, the staff service is excellent—so warm and helpful that it quickly makes you forget about the transportation inconvenience. Their hospitality really stands out and enhances the overall experience.
