The Santiago Hotel presents itself as the premier option for budget-conscious travelers and sightseers whose main priority is location and convenience in Hiroshima. Situated right in the city center, the hotel offers outstanding value, allowing guests to stay in a clean, private space without the high cost typically associated with such a central location.
The primary strength of the Santiago Hotel is its genuinely unbeatable location. Guests can walk to major landmarks, including the Peace Memorial Park and the Atomic Bomb Dome, in just a few minutes. This centrality extends to local life, with easy access to shopping areas and central dining options, such as the famous Okonomi-mura. Furthermore, the property itself is relatively new, having opened or been significantly renovated around 2020, ensuring a clean and modern environment.
The accommodation was actually better then I thought. Starting off the staff was really helpful and was able to speak English. The floors are stuck separated by gender and I was on the sixth floor, which had a nice as well they gave great selection of amenities, such as sleep, clothing, toothbrushes, razors, towels, etc. they had a lounge on each floor where you can just chill in the surrounding areas. It’s pretty nice too with a family Mart being right next-door and nakau across the street as well. Pretty close to the attractions in Hiroshima all within walkable distance.

ผผู้เข้าพักThis is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. I love the location as it is in a quiet neighbourhood in a low rise building which feels very cozy. It’s a 10 min walk to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park.
The hotel staff were wonderful and graciously provided me an upgrade to their best room for my overnight stay. This room was incredibly spacious and the bathroom was huge as well. The shower is in a separated room to the bathroom and has both an area to do stand up shower or use the bathtub/jacuzzi.
I do wish they provided free bottled water but that’s my only complaint and it doesn’t matter much. I did have the free coffee in the morning which helped perk me up.
Anyways I love this place and it was such good value. I will definitely book this hotel again if I come to Hiroshima in the future.
ผผู้เข้าพักOne of the best seaside Japanese inns with can’t-beat view of the bay. The individual rooms are very clean and tidy with traditional tatami floors and furniture. The futon bedding was clean and comfortable. There is a common bathroom on each floor with a separate common bathing room on the second floor where you can scrub down and soak in a bath. These traditional amenities are great experiences in themselves. The staff are kind and helpful and go beyond to make your stay enjoyable. They let me borrow a bicycle to ride around town and the island. Paddle boards are available for rent. The breakfast at the Alpha Cafe had an English style to it and was tasty. I’d highly recommend a stay here. The retro look and feel to the place is a charm.
PPolinaAbsolutely gorgeous place and the nicest owner! Rooms are cozy and clean. Air conditioning is working perfectly even in this scolding hot summer. The food is amazing! We highly recommend to try both dinner and Japanese breakfast, it is wonderful!
Overall this place is very peaceful and gorgeous. Try to stay at least for 2 nights!
Thank you so much for your kindness and care, we will try to return next year!
IIt’s Me AntoStayed here with my brother.
The check-in was a bit confusing as I didn't receive any instructions before arriving, and at the time of arrivin,g no one was present to explain, though we managed it.
The man that was managing the building was kind after we managed to meet him.
The location was good enough for us.
The rooms close with a gate it feels like a prison, though overall it was a good Ryokan experience.
