**The Batik Hotel in Medan offers a comfortable stay with a blend of modern amenities and warm hospitality, making it a convenient choice for both leisure and business travelers.**
Located on Jalan Sultan Iskandar Muda, The Batik Hotel is appreciated for its strategic position close to the city center, allowing guests easy access to shopping, dining, and cultural attractions. The hotel’s design incorporates subtle batik-inspired elements, giving it a touch of local character while maintaining a contemporary feel. Guests often highlight the **cleanliness of the rooms, spacious layouts, and reliable facilities**, which include air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and well-maintained bathrooms
The service from the staff was very decent. But the room was severely lacking. The bed was sunken in …. There was an odor in the hallway. The air conditioning made a lot of noise. Non smoking rooms are indeed available but many guests flout the rules and if you’re unlucky like I was assigned a room next to a very heavy smoker the smoke from his room was entering mine through the gaps in the partition door.
Very nice hotel. Rooftop pool with superb view of the Medan City. In a nice area with plenty of popular restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast have a good variety of local dishes to try. Just the waiting time for checkin and checkout is a little bit long. But undoubtedly will stay here again.
Amazing resort hotel in the island. delicious meal & friendly staff, the standard service is so high.
I love the pool and secluded garden, location is right on the beach.
Strong WiFi connection and all facilities.
The individual bungalow has beautiful Balinese art attached.
I can't thank you enough for well management hotel.
I will deffo come back again
Regards,
Simon
Amazingly helpful staff. Biggest room I have stayed in. It felt like a home. Good location. Breakfast is average at best. Has an A and W next to reception so that’s a plus. Highly recommend budget accommodation.

ผผู้เข้าพักWonderful upscale hotel in Dolok Sanggul clearly catering to foreign tourists. It's an impressive place visually from the outside, with a roomy, partially open-air dining/restaurant area making full use of the beautifully mild climate of the mountainous area south of Lake Toba. Breakfast is served starting at 7am and the restaurant appears to be open all day, though service stops at 10pm except for room-service beverage requests. Beverages are primarily juices, teas and coffees, though beer is also an option (Bintang). Food options are a mix of Batak/Indonesia, Chinese and Western-style. Most of the Western options were either steaks or pasta, and they were out of the steak. Unfortunately, I ended up with food poisoning later that night but I don't think it's fair to ding them for that.
The room was very comfortable. An armoire for hanging clothes as well as another hanging rack. Complimentary towel and room slippers. Television had several HBO channels as well as more local programming, perhaps 12-15 stations total to choose from.
The bathroom is definitely oriented towards tourists. Some basic toiletries like toothbrush/toothpaste. Western-style flush toilet with both toilet paper and the traditional butt-gun water hose. Shower gave good hot water although controls were very touchy. There was a hand/body soap dispenser in the shower but no bar soaps in the bathroom or shampoo. There were no signs indicating you shouldn't drink the tap water but, it's Indonesia and you should never drink the tap water if you're a tourist. Two small bottles of water were in the room along with a coffee-maker.
Definitely a great option if you're in the area.
LLynn99I recently stayed at the Samosir Cottage on Samosir Island from November 29 to December 1, 2024.
The room was spacious, a significant plus. However, the toilet area required attention, with ants present, as mentioned in previous reviews. While this was acceptable for me, it's an area for improvement.
What truly impressed me was the exceptional service from the receptionist. They clearly explained options and kindly upgraded us to a bigger room. Their helpfulness and professionalism made a significant difference in our stay.
We booked two deluxe rooms, but the first room had a smoke smell, prompting us to request a change or upgrade.
Overall, while there's room for improvement in bathroom maintenance and mattress covers, the Samosir Cottage's spacious rooms and excellent service make it a solid choice for those visiting Samosir Island.

ผผู้เข้าพักPariban hotel was a very nice place to stay near Berastagi. The surrounding area is beautiful at the base of Mt Sibayak. There are numerous hot springs nearby but Pariban also has a private hot spring pool for guests which is great. The amenities were okay, however we had to ask for a bathmat and toilet paper. Also the toilet cistern was leaking.
Overall, we would definitely stay here again however just be aware it is quite a way from the town of Berastagi and not ideal if you are wanting to do a sunrise hike of Mt Sibayak.
It's important to know that since it is quite far from Berastagi itself, if you book a private driver you may be charged extra to get here.
KKathrin-STRThe room was clean, but the sink was leaking and there was no soap provided. The breakfast area was overcrowded, and it was difficult to find a place to sit. The overall atmosphere felt uncomfortable, with the setup seeming focused primarily on accommodating large groups of Asian guests. Not a very pleasant stay.
