Stayed here with a family of 5 in December. All the staffs were kind and whenever we asked for help, they had immediate response and were extremely helpful. I used an indoor pool and gym, which were well managed and most importantly clean. We also had a breakfast which consisted of Turkish traditional cuisine and wide range of dishes to choose from. So good that I looked forward to waking up every morning. Grabbing a taxi was easy here but if you’re aiming to tour with a public transportation like bus and metro, you might have to walk +15mins. All in all, operations are smooth, and the facilities are maintained to a very high level. Thanks for the unforgettable times.
We had a perfect stay at this great hotel! I love the location—it's in the middle of everything but still not crowded, surrounded by a park zone. It's a fantastic option for families with kids. It's also a perfect spot if you plan to use the ferries, which are a fast and romantic way to explore Istanbul!
A special thanks to Murat, the chef, for his kindness and dedication to ensuring guests have an awesome experience, even on the busiest days. The Menemen and Egg Benedict were delicious! ❤️
Another big thank you to Rabia from the pool restaurant, who gave our son a Spider-Man bracelet that made him so happy! Even after a week, it remains a proud possession of his. 😂 We send lots of happiness and our best wishes to her! ❤️🎈
Nice room, about a ten minute walk from the old city. The pool area was very nice and relaxing with a bar, two hot tubs, and an infinity pool. The restaurant was wonderful, but maybe a little over priced. The fitness center was well kept!
GGuiBoThe hotel, room and staff are great!
There is something that honestly brothered me.
Anything bought at the hotel bar had a 10% mandatory service charge.
And this 10% does NOT go to the empoles who are there serving, but to the hotel company.
Does not seem fair
ผผู้เข้าพักAll was great! Perfect location in the old city center, near transport stations. Service was amazing, stuff was so polite and kind and really tried to help in different situations!
NNimasherpaaOur recent stay at The Ritz-Carlton was nothing short of extraordinary, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to share our experiences. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and attentiveness of the staff set the tone for an unforgettable visit.
The property itself is stunning, with a ambiance that’s both elegant and welcoming. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully appointed—everything you could want in a luxury hotel setting. What truly made our stay special, however, were the thoughtful touches provided by housekeeping. They went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, addressing our needs promptly and anticipate them before they arose.
One of the standout features of our stay was how well The Ritz-Carlton catered to families—specifically for our young daughter. From the moment we checked in, we were impressed with the array of toys and activities available for children, which kept her entertained and happy throughout our visit. The kids playroom was excellent. We spent almost 1hrs playing there. It’s clear that the hotel prioritizes making family stays as enjoyable and seamless as possible, and we deeply appreciated their efforts.
Our time at The Ritz-Carlton was a combination of luxury, comfort, and attentive service that made it feel like a true home away from home. We are already looking forward to our next visit!
DDawood Al-SalmanUpon arrival we received a room facing the main street. We could not sleep well because of the noise of the cars, but the next day the room was replaced with a quieter one. Thanks to the understanding staff. Everything was good, but the room's bathroom is old and needs maintenance and updating.
SSSSSSSSSSSSSYSuch a beautiful hotel — one with a story, a soul, and true history behind it. Still preserved under government care, this marvelous place has hosted some of the greatest guests you could ever imagine.
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey, once lived here — greeting international visitors and laying the foundations for a better future for his people and his country. His suite has been kept as a tribute; the doors to the Atatürk Room open daily at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., allowing guests to quietly pay their respects.
For those drawn to mystery, lose yourself in a cocktail (or two) at the legendary Orient Bar — where Agatha Christie’s Orient Express seems to come alive.
Yet among all the tales this hotel carries, its guest service may be the finest story of all. Attentive, kind, and earnest in every gesture — they bridge any language gap with grace and warmth.
But bear in mind — the rooms are charmingly old, though the cleanliness is truly impeccable. You can hear faint footsteps above when someone walks around, a reminder of the hotel’s vintage bones.
Room temperature control is... let’s say, an adventure. It’s either a steady 22–23.8°C or a blazing 29.8°C. At one point, I thought I was waking up with a tan. I had asked for the heat to be turned up earlier because it was freezing, and while the staff kindly came to fix it, well — this was the outcome so I just opened the window.
Last but not least, DO NOT miss out on afternoon tea at the Orient Bar!
Thank you Pera Palace :)

We arrived around 2 am, tired as expected, and the receptionist was just wonderful. There was some confusion around the deposit and method of payment, but he was extra patient and accommodating. Just a shame that no one greeted us outside / helped with the bags, which we saw happen for some other guests (for us, the concierge just stood at the entrance watching us - not really the kind of welcome I'd expect for a 5 star hotel).
We asked for two room cards, one of which stopped working on the second day, but that was quickly fixed by reception. We also realized that one card worked better for turning the room 'on' than the other card. One would always 'disconnect' and turn the electricity off, so that took a bit of trial and error.
Calling reception wasn't always productive, unfortunately. Sometimes they didn't answer at all, so we had to go downstairs to them instead. The housekeeping line was a bit more useful.
We asked reception/housekeeping for an iron/ironing board and had to wait almost 45 minutes for it. We also asked for room service and we could tell the bedsheets weren't changed / bathroom wasn't cleaned. It wasn't really an issue for us, but for a 5 star hotel, I expected a little better room service.
We loved the breakfast. So many options and a great variety. Some of the waiters/waitresses didn't seem too happy to be there, which isn't great when you're going to have breakfast and see unhappy faces all around you. But, I came across the sous chef on more than one occasion and he was a delight. There was one waiter who was also lovely, and chatted to me about where I was from and how interested he was in the Spanish language.
Location of the hotel is great, within walking distance for several of Istanbul's 'hot spots'. Only 10 min walk from the ferry station, about 15 min walk to Hagia Sophia or the Grand Bazaar, and a bit further to get to the Blue Mosque. Galata Tower is also within walking distance if you enjoy a good walk. If not, there are plenty of tram/bus stations around. We stayed for 6 nights and never needed to use the tram/bus, though (walked around 15k-16k steps a day!).
