This hostel is perfectly located right near the Bica Funicular, and it stays surprisingly quiet at night. Everything was great, though the lockers under the bed were a bit small and couldn't be locked. Also, bed selection is currently first come, first served. It was a bit of a hassle having to use my belongings to claim a spot; I’d suggest the hostel switch to assigned seating instead to make things smoother.
The hotel is on the perfect location-few minutes from the metro station, and special only 15minutes from the city centrer, on the other side of Avenue Liberty just 3-5minutes. The rooms are very, very clean.
The staff is extremely kind and helpful. I can’t wait to visit Lisabon again and book the same hotel.
The beautiful experience for me🙏
Dom Sanchio 1 is a charming rustic-style hotel with a fantastic location. It’s well-connected, with plenty of taxis, the train station, buses, and the iconic Tram 28 just around the corner. Victor and Tarsis were absolute gems—always ready with helpful recommendations and suggestions, which made our stay even better.
That said, there are some downsides. Housekeeping was very minimal, limited mostly to towel changes and a quick bed tidy-up. Breakfast was repetitive and quite basic throughout our four-day stay. The biggest challenge, however, was the bathroom—it was incredibly small, probably the tiniest I’ve ever come across in a hotel or hostel, requiring you to walk sideways just to get in.
Overall, it’s a convenient and welcoming place if location and friendly service matter most, but be prepared for the compact facilities and simple amenities.
IIara.
