”A good hostel offers excellent value, blending clean, comfortable facilities with a vibrant social atmosphere. Key aspects include a convenient location, friendly staff, reliable Wi-Fi, and secure storage. Positive experiences stem from well-maintained common areas and a welcoming environment that fosters traveler connections.”
The hotel is about 15–20 minutes from Salamanca Market and the Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre. The room is spacious, and everything is clean, neat, and pleasantly fragrant.
Each room comes with a microwave, electric kettle, some dining wares, dishwashing liquid, and a sponge. The heater works well, though the room still felt a bit cold—possibly because it’s quite large, especially for a solo traveler like me.
The male receptionist was very helpful with all my requests, from fixing my internet connection to allowing me to extend my checkout time from the standard 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
A little pub just up the hill from central Hobart, great value for money as breakfast of cereal, toast, tea, coffee & orange juice is included.
Opposite a Woolworths if any essentials are needed.
Limited reception hours, no big deal as I arrived at 3.00pm when reception opened.
Friendly place to stay, but try and avoid room 2, right next to the toilets & bathrooms as you can hear everything going on and people don’t know how to quietly shut a door.
Overall great overnight stay, would recommend.
Loved staying at Montacute Boutique Bunkhouse.
The owner is a super nice and upbeat guy and even carried my heavy suitcase up the small staircase!
The shared bathrooms are well-maintained and clean and towels as well as extra blankets were provided.
I would stay here again any time!
