For those who travel with kids I would recommend this hotel. Spacious room, large car park space, even the building looks old but your room look nice and if you lucky enough can get room with sea view. You can see the ship and ferry from your room. Hotel also has their pool and kids mini splash, love it.
It was a stone throw away from cenang beach so in a very good location. There was an Indian restaurant just downstairs and several other indian, vegetarian options (in food specifically, none pure vegetarian restaurants though). The staff was also very helpful.
Facilities wise there was no balcony and had a small window facing a busy cenang walk or adjacent hotel however it was not that noisy due to the nearby road. But during our stay there was some quarrel some people who ruined our 1 night as there was a lot of banging doors, shouting for several hours around 3 am on 28th Mar'2026. Another big factor in this hotel is that there is no sound proofing across. The rooftop restaurant here is an independent restaurant and accepted only cash with limited options in buffet breakfast but was value for money. However, you can visit warung cafe, amani cafe and old town coffee restaurant among other breakfast options at walking distance away but do check their operating hours as langkawi in general is late at night and late to wake up culture. The amenities like dental kit, bathroom door mat etc are provided only upon request rather than default. There was a water dispenser opposite reception so own bottles can be refilled beyond 500 ml per person per day provided by the hotel.
Royal Chenang Resort has beautiful hotel decorations with a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. The chef and breakfast staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made our mornings enjoyable. The building could use a bit more maintenance to keep it looking its best, but overall it is still a nice place to stay. Even though the location is slightly far from Chenang Beach, it was not an issue for us as we had a rental car. Overall, we would recommend staying at this hotel.
MMiaW98Lovely Stay – Great Value, Super Comfortable and Friendly Staff! 🥰🥰
We stayed here for one night and had such a great experience! We booked the family of four room even though it was just the two of us — we wanted a big bed each, haha — and it was perfect. The beds were king-size and super comfy, so we both slept really well.
The room was clean, spacious and very affordable — great value for money. A kettle and tea were provided, which was a nice touch. There weren’t many amenities, though — just a wall-mounted body wash (no separate shampoo or conditioner) — but for the price, it was still excellent.
The staff at reception were so kind and helpful. We asked for a hair dryer and they brought one right away. There’s also a refillable water station between the rooms with both hot and cold water, which was really convenient.
We liked the outdoor seating area too and they kindly ask that smokers sit outside with doors and windows closed — which keeps everything fresh inside.
We took a Grab to Tengah Beach in the evening — it was quick and cheap both ways. The only small thing to note is that there aren’t many shops within walking distance, but taxis and Grab rides are very affordable.
Overall, we had a lovely stay and would definitely stay here again! Thanks TC Garden Resort 🪴🫶🏼
ผผู้เข้าพักAfter such a long time away from the beautiful island of Langkawi, I was truly excited for this trip. After reading many online reviews, I decided to stay at Best Star Resort, hoping for a relaxing and memorable experience. Sadly, the reality did not match the expectations.
First impression matters — and unfortunately, the hotel lobby was extremely hot upon arrival. The only positive part was that we managed to check in 30 minutes early, which we appreciated very much because we were already exhausted after taking the 7AM ferry, renting a car, driving around the island, and getting caught in the rain.
However, once we entered the room, problems immediately started appearing. The room door was in very poor condition and extremely difficult to open. I actually had to walk around searching for housekeeping staff just to help me unlock the door. After finally entering, I noticed there were no towels or even a leg mat provided in the room. Once again, I had to go out and hunt for housekeeping just to get basic necessities.
The second day became even more frustrating. There is a restaurant beside the room area, and the noise level early in the morning was unbelievable. The sound of shutters opening, combined with the loud crows outside, completely destroyed our sleep. To make things worse, the window could not even close properly, allowing all the noise to enter the room easily.
I cannot speak for other rooms, but based on my experience, this stay was disappointing and far below what I expected. Even the breakfast did not feel up to Malaysian hospitality standards. Malaysia is famous for amazing food, but sadly the hotel management really needs to improve the quality and taste.
This trip taught me one important lesson — next time I must be more careful when choosing hotels, no matter how good the online reviews look.
