The best 4 days ever! Highly recommend this hotel! We were a group of 8 people and had an unforgettable stay here. The hotel owner is one of the kindest and most helpful people we’ve ever met. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us warmly, gave us great local recommendations, and even personally drove us to each destination! On the day we went hiking in the mountains, he provided us with free walking sticks. He helped us with everything — arranging transfers, buying entrance tickets, and planning the route. He also allowed us to check in early and check out late, which was incredibly convenient. I shared room 8303 with my friend. The room is designed for two people and had two separate beds, both very comfortable to sleep in. There was also an air conditioner in the room, which made our stay even more pleasant. Another thing we’re super grateful for — the owner kindly let us do laundry. After hiking in the mountains, our clothes definitely needed it! The view from the window was absolutely stunning. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, full of natural light, and have plenty of power outlets. The showers were great, with clean water and convenient showerheads. There were all the necessary toiletries: body soap, shampoo — we recommend bringing your own conditioner if needed. The hotel can also prepare food for guests. We really enjoyed the tomato and egg noodles — delicious and homey. There’s also a local café nearby where we had breakfast a few times. The hotel is located in the mountains, perfectly positioned for visiting nearby attractions, waterfalls, hiking spots, and even riding quad bikes. A tip: bring a good quality raincoat if you’re visiting during rainy weather! The owner speaks basic English, and even though it wasn’t easy for him, he patiently explained everything to us in English with so much kindness and care. He truly went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable — even helped us search for a lost phone in the mountains! He also called us in advance before our arrival to confirm our plans and helped arrange a transfer to the train station after check-out. Lily’s House in Wuhu is an enchanting sanctuary nestled within the heart of an ancient village that seamlessly blends history and modern comfort, providing a truly captivating experience. This owner-managed establishment elevates hospitality to an art form, combining personalized service with a deeply comforting atmosphere. The house itself boasts 14 unique rooms, each thoughtfully designed to cater to families, with child-friendly features that capture the imagination. Some rooms are equipped with delightful slides, while others offer the luxury of a private spa or sauna, creating a bespoke experience for every guest. The whimsical decoration throughout makes each corner of Lily’s House a joy to explore, particularly for young ones who will find endless delight in the small play area and the gentle companionship of a couple of playful rabbits. A true highlight of staying at Lily's House is its exceptional value. The level of care and attention given to each guest doesn't come at the exorbitant cost you might expect, making it an accessible luxury for families. Breakfast is a fulfilling experience, consistently fresh and satisfying, setting you up perfectly for the day ahead. Should hunger strike at other times, the owner’s willingness to arrange delivery food throughout the day or evening - though at a small additional cost - ensures you're never far from a delicious meal. That said, the house's prime location leaves you enveloped by a plethora of local restaurants, offering culinary adventures that are just a stone’s throw away. Within this ancient village, entertainment options abound. From traditional shows that bring the local culture to life to leisurely walks through historical lanes, there’s no shortage of activities to enrich your stay. Each bedroom is a haven in its own right, complete with a luxurious bath that offers the perfect retreat after a day of exploration and enjoyment. What truly sets Lily’s House apart, however, is the owner’s unparalleled dedication to guest satisfaction. His genuine care was exemplified by arranging a delightful Western-style breakfast for us, going above and beyond to meet our needs. This rare level of service imbues your stay with a warmth and welcome that genuinely feels like a ”home away from home.” Lily’s House is a hidden gem in Wuhu, a place that captures the heart and guarantees that you’ll leave with a treasure trove of memories. I eagerly anticipate returning to this delightful retreat, thankful for such an incredible experience.

For a three-diamond hotel charging almost 400 CNY per night, I expected a little more attention to detail. The room itself was spacious, clean, and tidy, with a large panoramic window overlooking a pleasant row of trees. There was also a nice tea table, which made the room feel cozy. One detail I genuinely appreciated was the care given to the old tree in the garden. Seeing it supported with an IV drip system was both unusual and heartwarming—it showed that someone actually cares about preserving it instead of simply replacing it. However, a surprising number of small issues gradually added up and affected the overall experience. I booked a room with a bathtub, but the bathtub turned out to be rather small and leaked unless a disposable plastic liner was used. There were no bath salts, bubble bath, or any other bath amenities, while the shampoo and shower gel bottles were only 50 ml each. The room initially had only one 1.5-liter bottle of drinking water. I had to call the front desk to ask for regular 500 ml bottles and tea. There was neither tea nor coffee in the room upon arrival. Breakfast was the biggest disappointment. There was almost no meat except pork baozi. Boiled eggs were available, but there were no traditional soy-marinated eggs. On the positive side, the purple sweet baozi were delicious, and the sliced melon was excellent—the rind had been completely removed, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, two of the three desserts were stale and overly dry, and some cherry tomatoes still had black spots around the stems. The biggest issue, however, was coffee—or rather, the complete absence of it. There was no coffee in the room, and there was no coffee at breakfast. In fact, breakfast didn't even include tea or plain drinking water. I honestly didn't expect that the rarest item at a hotel breakfast buffet would be... water. For someone staying in a smoking room, a cup of coffee is one of those small pleasures that makes the morning better. Unfortunately, that small pleasure never arrived. Maybe coffee is considered a luxury item here. Overall, the hotel has good potential thanks to its spacious and clean rooms. But hospitality is often about the little things, and this hotel missed quite a few of them. I would consider staying here again only if these service details are improved.

The hotel is located right in Tunxi Old Street and near to the bridge connecting to Li Yang Old Street. Tunxi sells most of the touristy souvenirs while Li Yang is more modern and trendy. The interior is well decorated, ancient Chinese vibe with some history behinds it. Room is clean and I was upgraded to a bigger room since the hotel was quite vacant during my stay. The lady boss is very friendly and helpful. She reminded me of my mum and I happened to be the same age as her daughter. But obviously we have a different life journey despite being the same age. She is a modern and understanding mum who gave her daughter support when she was vulnerable. Just like many of us who have to hustle in adulthood, our parents have to fend for themselves eventually. So spend time talking to her and she will make tea for you! I chatted with her for almost 2 hours over tea and pastry. I could have better spent it by exploring but I thought the human touch matters a lot too. Trust me, she loves talking to guests and is happy to help in anyway. Just ask her anything and share with her funny encounters. She recommended me to get some tea and haggled for a discount! It was lovely and unexpected of her to gift me some orange peels too! Fortunately I could speak and read Chinese, though not advanced. Chinese used to be my favourite subject in school but reality of the education system made me lost touch. There’s certainly a lot to learn about the Chinese culture, tea and also its art! I will return to this place again! And perhaps next time with a great person to see the chrysanthemum field!!!

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The hotel was very quiet, spotlessly clean, and our room was super tidy. Every day there was tea waiting for us in the lobby along with small snacks, which was such a nice and thoughtful touch. Breakfast really stood out – very different from most Chinese hotels we’ve stayed in. Everything was fresh, high quality, and clearly prepared with care. On top of that, breakfast time was flexible and adjusted to our plans, which we really appreciated. The owner is truly exceptional. He drove us for free to the South Gate of Huangshan and helped us plan our itinerary in detail. Throughout our stay, he constantly checked on us, asked if we needed anything, and genuinely cared about our comfort. On the day we were leaving, we couldn’t get a Didi for a longer trip to Jiangwan – no drivers were available. The owner immediately stepped in and called his brother, who drove us there for the same price as Didi, but in a much nicer and more comfortable car. We were sick with a cold during our stay, and he was incredibly attentive. We had mentioned at the beginning that air conditioning makes our throat and sinuses worse, so he made sure the AC was off in the room. He even told his brother not to use AC in the car during our transfer – something you almost never experience. Amazing owner, beautiful location, top-level cleanliness, and a rooftop view that’s absolutely perfect. We felt truly cared for from start to finish. We loved this place and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommended.

Hidden gem // Cosy homestay with lovely and caring hosts - 10/10 recommend! We loved our stay at Villa Emerald Valley especially due to: + Lovely hosts: super friendly, multi generational, from the neighborhood and always keen to fulfill all our wishes even before we knew them + Bright, modern, clean and cosy rooms: Big windows, clean and modern bathroom facilities (great hot shower that is truly needed after a day in the mountain), really comfy beds, water boiler, etc. + Nice common area: game room, restaurant, tea table, small pool + Tasty food: breakfast, lunch and dinner freshly prepared, many options (also vegetarian), fresh fruits and tea, decent prices -＞ we loved their tomato&egg, bamboo, qingcai and tofu dishes + Smooth communication and great service: quick responses via WeChat, airport pick up (200¥ one way), support with ticket booking for huangshan, carrying luggage, extra fruits, etc. + Emerging into the community: as it was tea harvest time, the hosts took us to the tea mountain close by where we could help picking tea leaves + Location: huangshan is overall really touristy with a lot of group tourism and thus overall probably not the nicest place to stay for a longer time. However, the home stay, while being close to all main tourist attractions, lies very calm and right beside the mountains where locals live and work, so it does not feel touristy at all and you could easily spend several days there to explore and relax Also , the hosts can speak some English, so communication for foreigners is not a problem.
