TThanathip MoolvongThis is a very small hotel located at the edge of Gion, 2 km from Kyoto station. There are just less than 20 rooms, very quiet. The room I stayed is not big but surprisingly bigger than most of hotels I have stayed in Japan. I stayed 2 nights, no cleaning service provided. Separate toilet and bathroom and wash basin. There are many convenient store around 500 meters. Very cozy and convenient.
MMaverickWhen we first got there, there wasn’t any staff at the reception, apparently to call them, you would have to pick up the phone on the front desk. Although the staff speak limited English, they are friendly and accommodating.
There was PLENTY of space in the room, being able to open 2 big luggage’s with room to walk around. There was the minor inconvenience of having to pack our belongings and put to a side for check out every day, and check in again.
The breakfast of 2 options (Western/Japanese style) was a tad bit too salty for our liking. We had the chance to utilise the roof top onsen, and which was quite a refreshing experience.
The location is 10/15mins away from the nearest train station, so not very convenient when we were pushing our luggages to the hotel.
