Convenient location for those who doesn't plan to go to the city center. Just across the street from the sea, 10-15 minute's ride to the airport, within a walking distance from regular (not touristic) Chinese eateries. Rooms are cosy and cleaned every day if necessary. Great pool and pool view! Front desk employees don't speak languages other than Chinese, but can find a way out with the help of a translation app. Mind that some free services mentioned in the offer are only available for Chinese citizens, no matter whether a foreigner speaks Chinese or not. That's a bit disappointing, everything else is fine.

I recently stayed at Resort Golden Palm in Sanya and my experience was a mix of highs and lows. The initial encounter with the lobby staff wasn't very pleasant, but the rest of the staff throughout my stay were exceptionally friendly. The hotel's prime location, just across the beach and 800 meters from restaurants, malls, and markets, adds significant value. The highlight of the resort is undoubtedly its amazing pool and lake. Additionally, the unexpected gifts of a complimentary photoshoot and fishing experience were a pleasant surprise. The photoshoot was entirely free, allowing me to choose five pictures with the option to purchase extras at a reasonable price. I opted for the fishing experience, but since I wasn't familiar with it, the staff kindly replaced it with a fish foot spa, showcasing their flexibility and commitment to guest satisfaction. On the downside, I booked the cheapest room, which proved to be spacious but disappointing. The room had an old and unpleasant smell, and the bathroom felt like it belonged to a 2-star hotel with its outdated and dark features. This aspect significantly affected my overall impression. Despite this, the hotel's proximity to the area's best hotels and the positive encounters with most staff members leave me considering a future stay, with the hope of exploring a different room for a potentially improved experience. Addressing the room conditions could significantly enhance the overall appeal of Resort Golden Palm.

I believe this is a fairly new complex of high-rise buildings. The facades look very enticing from the outside. However, as you drive into the underground parking lot, you're greeted by dust that probably hasn't been cleaned since construction. Then, there's a sharp smell of sewage. You must strictly follow the signs pointing toward the hotel (it's one giant shared underground parking lot for the entire complex). If you take a wrong turn, you might literally 'drown' — part of the parking lot is flooded with 5-10 cm of water, and apparently, this is the new normal, as they’ve built a small cement dam to keep the water from spreading across the entire floor. All the buildings in the complex seem abandoned except for two: one is the hotel itself, and in the other, probably some people live, as lights are on in a few windows in the evenings. If you get lost in this parking garage, you might accidentally end up in one of those other buildings via the stairwell, and you'll be greeted by a scene straight out of an apocalypse movie. But back to the hotel: the hallways have dirty carpets that no one cleans, the finishes are very scuffed and shabby, and the same continues inside the rooms.
