Grand Mercure Sanya Yalong Bay

Nice territory with a pool. Good combo lunch with seafood. But there was a bad smell in the room, and a furniture is a bit old. I had a benefit of late check out for two rooms but the hotel provided only for one, for another one they ask to pay! Not good experience

Very nice and clean resort, all commodity there, really enjoyed

This is our second trip to Sanya and Yalong Bay, and it's the second time we have stayed in this hotel for an extended period, like 10 days. The last time we were here was in 2022 during Covid, and everything was different. This time, we were able to enjoy the hotel, and the hotel's location is very good, too. It's so close to Yalong Bay. The hotel has its own swimming pools where kids can enjoy a lot of fun activities. The rooms were cleaned every day, and special thanks to Steve, who always helped us. The only thing we didn’t like about this hotel is that the furniture is a bit old, and the mattresses are not so comfortable. The breakfast at the hotel is almost the same every day. Also, it seems that food theft from the canteen is an issue that the staff needs to address. This year, there were many Russian people in the hotel, which made it feel less like being in China.

Location is good but a little bit far from the beach. Breakfast isn’t tasty, there are lot of children and noise. The renovation a little bit old.

There were definitely some positives and negatives about this hotel. First off, I will say the staff was very friendly. They would greet you with a smile wherever they saw you on property. I ate dinner at the poolside restaurant a few times and I enjoyed my food as well. Some negatives were that the hallway itself smelt moldy and nasty. Could be due to the carpeting, which was in bad condition, or all the old wood decor or a combo of both. My room smelt the same. The shower smelt like urine and some of the wood in the bathroom was rotting. I guess due to continuous exposure to water. I also didn’t like the fact that there was little accessibility for a stroller. Maybe I didn’t see it, but, to get down to the pool and most of the restaurants I only saw a staircase which was inconvenient to take my baby around. I did like the fact that it was right across the road from the beach, but, also somewhat far from the airport. Another positive is that they had a nice play area for the kids. My baby loved playing there. Everyone is different. Maybe you will enjoy this hotel. That is just a bit of my honest review.

Strategic location. Close to everything. Beautiful views, very 'Bali' like. Staff can't really speak English though. Food is good. A ton of Chinese and Western options. 2mins walking distance from the beach. A shopping street right in the back of the hotel. Bike rental shops as well. Very family friendly. Not the best option for solo travelers perhaps. Pretty clean. Serivce in general is great. Parts of the pools were closed though, which was not mentioned when I booked it. I do reccommend though. I would definitely go back.
