Maiya Seacave is such an awesome place! Waking up with a panoramic view of the ocean and Wuzhizhou island is so therapeutic. The design of the hotel is just an art. Cafe/restaurant and lobby on 1st floor look like a real cave. It’s so nice to dive in this coolness and hide from the burning sun treating yourself with a refreshing drinks. The room was spotless clean! No strange odors ( like in many hotels in Sanya), no stains and the bed was so comfy! Room itself is very cozy and made me feel being at home. Second floor of B&B is also cave shaped and has a photo-zone and even professional photographer. The hotel staff is very polite and friendly, there was a surprise when someone knocked my door and brought me the plate of fruits+ lemonade!🤭 If you come to Houhai I suggest you to choose this hotel. Oh…those sweet corgi named Tutu is the boss there! He makes your stay even funnier! ☺️

Our family of 12 (8 adults and 4 children) from Singapore recently stayed here for 5 nights to celebrate the New Year. As our first trip to China, we were blown away by the beauty of Sanya and the hospitality of this villa. Exceptional Service & Elderly Friendly The service was immaculate from start to finish. The complimentary railway station transfer was a lifesaver. The manager, who was also our driver, was incredibly punctual and went above and beyond to assist with our heavy luggage and my grandfather’s wheelchair. A special mention to our young housekeeper; despite the language barrier, his warmth and professionalism made our check-in effortless. The villa is perfect for multi-generational families—the ground-floor bedroom was ideal for my grandfather’s accessibility. Fun for the Whole Family The basement was the highlight of our stay. Our children spent hours learning pool, while the arcade machine in the bedroom brought back great memories for the adults. Outside, the back gate leads directly to the beach. We were right next to the Crowne Plaza, where they have buckets and shovels prepared for kids to share and a kiosk selling a great variety of popsicles to enjoy by the sea. Location & Travel Tips Haitang Bay is stunning. It features the world’s largest duty-free mall and arguably the best beaches on the island. For Muslim Travelers: Halal food is more concentrated in Sanya Bay and Yalong Bay, so plan your meals accordingly if staying in Haitang Bay. Guest Discounts: Be sure to ask the staff about yacht charters! We enjoyed a great discount on a private boat trip just by staying here. Weather: For those coming from Southeast Asia, the weather here is perfect in late December—dry, sunny, and very comfortable. Helpful Notes for Future Guests Room Layout: The top-floor bedroom has a unique open-bathroom design and no wardrobe. It’s a stylish arrangement, but good to know for privacy planning. Skin Sensitivity: A few of our family members have very sensitive skin (like eczema) and reacted to the swimming pool water. This is just a note for those with similar skin types, and perhaps something the villa can look into for the future. The Beach: The waves can be quite strong and the wind can be high, so do check the tides before heading out. Conclusion Watching the 1.1 New Year fireworks and drone displays away from the usual crowds was worth every cent. Sanya is a clean, safe, friendly, and beautiful city. This villa is a hidden gem that we would recommend to anyone. We could actually see ourselves living here!

Pros: Residential complex grounds, proximity to the sea, non-smoking room, the ADMINISTRATOR. Cons: ”Tired” apartment, needs deep cleaning (including upholstery), no sheer curtains, thin walls (you can hear everything). The Review: The apartments are located in an excellent modern residential complex with its own gated, well-kept territory (key card access, friendly security). There are plenty of activities for kids, a pool, ping-pong and billiard tables, and a gym (though I’m not sure if it’s open to everyone). There seem to be many apartment options, but ours didn't have the best view — we faced the opposite building. There were no sheer curtains (only heavy drapes), which was annoying as we ended up staring right at the neighbors. At first glance, the place looks picture-perfect, but you quickly realize it’s ”tired” and needs a renovation. It desperately needs a deep clean — if you lie on the sofa, you'll end up smelling like it (not very pleasant). On the plus side, there was absolutely no cigarette smell in the entire building. The Wi-Fi is weak, and for some reason, mobile data is terrible unless you go out on the balcony. Soundproofing is non-existent. If you stick to a ”12 AM bed, 7 AM wake-up” schedule, you’ll be fine (it’s perfectly quiet then), but otherwise, it’s hard to sleep. Plus, there is significant noise from planes and helicopters. I want to give a special thanks to the Administrator. We arrived late at night and got lost; he came out to find us and helped with our bags. He responded to all our questions instantly and was incredibly helpful. He made us feel comfortable, like in a hotel. Without him, our experience would have been much worse. It's a good choice for a short stay — shops, restaurants, and a market are all nearby. The sea is just a 3-minute walk away; you can head there straight in your swimsuit. The beach is great, not crowded, and there are no ”fenced-off” areas.
