"What makes Makati Palace Hotel a superb place to stay in the centre of Manila is the staff.
At the end of the day, hotels hotels beds, a bit of furniture in the room and the usual infrastructure but the people here are so attentive, professional, and will do anything to ensure your stay is premium.
And let me assure you it is a premium stay here because they make you feel like you’re the only guest in the world.
Well done to House Keeping, the bell men, Rock solid Security who make you feel very safe, & well done to the front office staff: Ashleigh, Ann, Irish, Stephanie and and the the front office supervisors and accounts staff too."
"For the price, it’s a good hotel. The room is fairly clean and the breakfast is 350/person. The cleanliness was decent but they did not refill my body soap so that wasn’t great. Check in also took a while for some reason. I arrived after 3pm (check in is supposedly starting at 2) and was told to wait so someone could check if the room is ready. Location is ok but not great."
"I have travelled a fair bit and feel that I have a good handle how things are. This hotel has Best Western as part of the name so I expected a certain level. I could see that the hotel was probably a higher end hotel, the lobby showed high end finishes and this was probably a 200+ room hotel when built. It has suffered a fair bit of age related issues and the room finishes are quite tired. I noticed on floor 9, 3 rooms together had obviously been flooded and not repaired. The smell of damaged materials was quite strong (lower parts of the doors were heavily water damaged and there were towels damming the thresholds).
My room on a different floor was fine but I did have multiple legged friends in my room and the sheets were grey from multiple washings and lastly, the area is the seamy side of Makati (Manila) and is not the best.
Okay, that is the list of cons, now for the pros, price was very reasonable, the staff was good in any interactions I had and if you want the seamy side, the location....is excellent. There are lots of bars nearby and multiple actually quite good restaurants including directly across the street, The Filling Station, a throwback to the 1950s us type Diner. Lots of fun and the food is quite good.
I will mention that the gym is quite good and I did use it. The gym Airton has apparently had the refrigerant leaked off so it doesn't work. I was told a lot of the rooms have been sold as condos so I found the hotel to be quiet, good amenities for a good price but it is tired.
Overall I'm going to rate this a high three star hotel because you kind of get something a little bit more for quite a reasonable price so it is a bargain and is not the slum that other cheap hotels often are. Yes, I would definitely stay again."

My experience at this Shangri-La property was not as good as others in the region. The building and facilities feel noticeably older, which affects the overall stay.
In the room, the air conditioning was not adjustable. I do appreciate that the team promptly sent a technician to check it, but the unit remained very loud throughout the night, cycling on and off every few minutes, which made it difficult to sleep.
Traveling with another friend, her room also encountered an issue with the bathtub water appearing brown, which technician conclude that is due to sediment buildup.
Overall, I would recommend choosing the Shangri-La in BGC instead, as it offers a better experience.
ผผู้เข้าพักFive-star service: From checking in to checking out, from interacting with the concierge to the hotel staff, we were always treated with a warm smile, courteous service, and anticipation of the next need.
The breakfast was just out of this world. It has the best selection of food from all over.
My family and I loved our stay at the Fairmont Makati.
FFalseclockI was generally satisfied with my stay at the hotel. There was only a small misunderstanding regarding the lunch boxes, but it was resolved. I especially enjoyed the UMU restaurant - everything there was truly delicious and exceeded my expectations. Overall, I am very pleased with my experience.
JJESSICA MARIE RACELISMy husband and pamangkins enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Overall, everything was great—wala akong masabi. The staff were very helpful, except for one receptionist at the Escolta area, if I remember correctly, her name was Julia.
She was very rude and was the only one who did not assist us. When I approached her for help, she even walked away from us. Imagine, it was my husband’s birthday and we received that kind of treatment. I mean, we shouldn’t have to mention that it was his birthday just to be treated properly as guests.
Our overall experience was excellent, but because of her, it was disappointing. She was the only one who negatively affected our stay at The Peninsula.
