De kamer was zeer proper! Geen super grote kamer maar zeker alles wat je nodig hebt was aanwezig! Zelfs gratis 2 kleine flesjes water en koffie en thee! Het ontbijt was top!! Het was een buffet met heeeeeel wat lekkers en zeeer uitgebreid! Amai! Chapeau voor het personeel want die zorgden dat alles netjes op tijd werd aangevuld! Enige wat we storend vonden, maar daar kan het hotel niks aan doen, waren de luidruchtige gasten in de gang! Het hotel is vlak aan het station gelegen maar je hebt totaal geen last van lawaai van treinen! Ons raam stond vaak open en wij hebben echt totaal geen treinen horen voorbij rijden! Wij gaan zeker nog terug naar dat hotel!

We stayed here for 3 nights during Christmas, as we were visiting family nearby. The hotel and room do look lovely, as per the advertised pictures. There is ample parking and the breakfast is really good. However we felt let down after our stay. Our room (number 28) was really cold, all the time. There was no central heating, only an aircon unit that we occassionally got to blow out heat, but it never warmed the room completely. The bathroom was freezing cold and never dried fully. There is a wind up heating unit in the bathroom that needs to be wound up but it doesn’t dry anything. The bed didn’t have a proper matress, only a thin foam layer on top of a spring box set. Upon arrival (on 24/12), we didn’t receive the warmest welcome. We arrived in what seemed a closed hotel and had to ring the reception bell twice and wait a long time, before someone appeared and rushed us through check-in. It being Christmas eve, you’d expect something extra, a lovely message or an invitation to join the bar for festivities. But in the first sentence we were told abruptly the restaurant would be closed for the next couple of days due to Christmas. So it wasn’t the welcome we expected. All other moments we passed the reception/bar area, it was unmanned. During our stay, it honestly felt more like serviced rooms than a hotel. Which is fine if that’s what you’re looking for, but we booked a hotel during Christmas to get the hotel experience. Christmas or any other holiday should not be an excuse.

Dit hotel bestaat uit een modern gedeelte en de Porta Cité Heritage, gelegen in een oude ingenieurswoning. Wij hadden een kamer in dat laatste en dat beviel ons uitermate. Het hele interieur straalt gezelligheid uit. Er is zelfs een lift voorhanden. De kamer zelf is ruim, luchtig en comfortabel. Het gebouw is gelegen aan een vrij druk rondpunt, maar ze zijn danig goed geïsoleerd, dat je daar geen last van hebt. Enig minpuntje bij erg warm weer, is dat er geen airco aanwezig is, alleen een ventilator. Maar dat zal ons niet weerhouden om bij een volgende gelegenheid terug naar de Heritagekamers te vragen. Voor het ontbijt konden we terecht in het nieuwe gedeelte van het hotel. Het ontbijtbuffet bestond uit een warm en koud aanbod, zoet en hartig. Genoeg van alles. En ten slotte was het personeel vriendelijk.
