When the prices are low, this is your best choice. Clean room. Standard were good. I would go back as long as the prices are good.

El hotel está limpio y tiene un buen desayuno. Se encuentra a unos 15 minutos de la Parliament Hill, ByWard Market o la Galería Nacional de Canadá. Tiene parking, pero no reservan plazas. Recomiendo llegar temprano, sino en la recepción te recomienda otros aparcamientos por la zona. La ubicación es buena, la localización no tanto. Está cerca de un centro de desintoxicación o un comedor social, haciendo que en la zona haya mucho vagabundo. No se percibe una zona peligrosa, pero no es agradable para unos días en familia.

Best things are the view and the staff. Amazing location too. Very close to the walking bridge connecting Gatineau to Ottawa. Staff super polite, friendly, and helpful. Ambience too poorly looking with a smell of cleaning products that stinks. Linen were washed but a drop of blood stain on it (just throw out the damn thing). Also, too expensive for what it offers with no chance to cancel or modify. Wouldn't recommend

The bed was comfortable and the breakfast buffet was great. The room was fairly quiet. The shower controls were modern. The only thing was no trash bags in the trash bins inside the room, and no bottled water included (had to bring my own). The garbage bags they provided after requesting them were too big lol. The cost was fairly expensive for just one night though manageable if splitting the cost with another guest.

Lovely historic building that feels different from your average ”nice” hotel. Deco is classy and distinctive, and the basketball court is a big plus for a player like me - though the hoop was somewhat crooked. Two ping pong tables too. Will definitely come back next time I need a stay in Ottawa.

Where to begin... first of all, when I made this booking, there was no mention whatsoever of HEAVY DUTY CONSTRUCTION beginning every day at 7 a.m. Naturally upon checking in, I'm informed that there is intense construction happening right next door. And yes, it was brutal. I also SPECIFICALLY booked this hotel because there was an option to reserve now, pay at the hotel. Here are some direct quotes from my booking confirmation email: ”You'll need to pay upon check-in at Andaz Ottawa Byward Market, by Hyatt,” ”Your payment will be handled by Andaz Ottawa Byward Market, by Hyatt,” and ”Pay at Hotel.” Sure enough, I get there, and the money's already been taken out of my credit card and I owe nothing to the hotel upon check-in. (This matters for reimbursement purposes at the company I work for.) Lastly, I was told when I checked in that housekeeping would be visiting every third day -- that was fine by me. But the very first day, I come back to my room after a long day and someone's been there, replacing towels, removing the minimal garbage in there, etc., which I was not at all prepared for given that I was advised the opposite. It made me extremely uncomfortable because all of my personal effects were left throughout the room, not expecting housekeeping given that I was advised no housekeeping would be coming until the third day. I'll be honest, that creeped me out as someone travelling alone. The staff were apologetic but I didn't find their explanation at all sufficient. (The housekeeping manager and front desk attendant completely contradicted each other.) Overall, such a chaotic stay. Oh, and, the heat in my room didn't work. Had to request a space heater... I mean, c'mon.
