The reason I gave lower score on service was that I booked this room specifically because it was
“1 King POOLSIDE ROOM - DIRECT POOL ACCESS”
And I got there late, like minutes before 11PM but booked room around 7PM. The man at front desk was kind and quick and gave me my cards for suite saying 3rd floor. When I got into suite I gave my son a bath and then went to look out window and saw the parking lot. I was like ***. So I called front desk and lady answered and I was like *** and explained it and she apologized and said that the suite I was supposed to get had plumbing issues so they ‘upgraded’ my suite instead. Saying it’s the executive suite which is much bigger (online cost
$5-$10 more than one with poolside/pool access). I asked if it was really an upgrade if it didn’t have access to pool? Again she apologized, and I said well I think I should have been called or emailed stating that after booking and given the option to have a refund or choice of ‘upgrade’, or at the least those offers when I came to front desk! Not go to suite without telling me and me getting settled bathing my son before noticing ***. Was not impressed by that at all as I would’ve asked for refund instead since I booked it for that specific purpose, direct pool access.
Aside from that upset the suite was incredibly nice, could’ve used a box of Kleenex for each room, but everything was clean and they let me do a 12pm check out (not free obviously). Breakfast was included and it was buffet/continental that was so much better than expected and really great with many many options. All the staff were nice and friendly.
Aside from not being told about my suite being unavailable and not given option for upgrade or refund both at time of booking AND at front desk when checking in, I would’ve given 5star rating. The location would be ideal if I was travelling to Winnipeg given how close it is to airport, but I live here so it not being closer to home is not ideal, which any hotel around the airport would’ve rated that the same.

ผผู้เข้าพักI enjoyed staying at Alt hotel in winnipeg. The design of the room was phenomenal - loved the high ceiling bathroom in my suite, the view of winnipeg downtown, and overall interesting placement of items and textures of the room itself. A lot of thought went into the decision making of the rooms and it payed off. I had forgotten my little music speaker at home but the alarm clock had a Bluetooth speaker so that was great! The hotel is in a good location to access downtown restaurants, etc. The Merchant restaurant right next to the hotel had delicious food! The gym was nice and spacious. The staff were all helpful and rooms were kept clean! I will stay again, thank you.
LLouiseLoiUnderstand they are providing free stay for homeless people at the moment, but this should be clearly communicated in the description. We had a shock at the lobby when there are full of homeless people at the counter, one with many scars on his face was making troubles and cops with gun walked in. Imagine how we felt?!? There were security guards each floor at lift area but we still had a weird feeling. Luckily It was only a short stay for early morning flight. Free shuttle to airport is plus and only 5 mins to airport.

Three things do stand out though.
1. Our room was not replenished with extra toilet paper.
2. Shower drain does not drain all that well.
3. There was a motorcycle gang that showed up on July 21. They seemed to loiter at the front
entrance- which our balcony overlooked. They made us feel uneasy going in and out of the front entrance and definitely noisy as we tried to enjoy the beautiful weather from our balcony!!!
