ผผู้ใช้ไม่ระบุชื่อI had pretty high hopes for Mövenpick Bintan since it’s so highly raved about on Instagram, so unfortunately the actual experience felt quite underwhelming.
Our first room came with its own “built-in waterfall” — water was literally dripping down the wall. We were told it was condensation because we had left the balcony door open for too long, but honestly… is 3 minutes too long? They came to clean it up, which we appreciated, but it continued dripping throughout the night and the next day. Things on the table became wet, there were puddles on the floor and the whole room just felt damp. We eventually requested a room change the following day, which they accommodated, although the process took a few hours.
My kids were also really looking forward to feeding the fish, but throughout our entire 3D2N stay there was no fish food available. We asked from Day 1 and were repeatedly told they were replenishing it, but it never happened.
The facilities also felt poorly maintained. Two out of three pinball machines in the arcade were not working, and one player side of the Pac-Man machine was spoilt. The Kids Club closes at 6pm, after which there is very little for young kids to do. There also weren’t many organised activities during our stay, not even simple things like sandcastle activities.
A number of the more interesting activities are separately chargeable, including the motorised bikes, water scooters and cold plunge. I don’t mind paying for additional activities, but combined with the limited complimentary activities, it made the overall resort experience feel less value-for-money than expected.
The resort is also very spread out, so getting around often requires waiting for a buggy.
That said, there were definitely things we enjoyed. Breakfast had a crazy amount of selection and variety — probably one of the highlights of the stay! We were also there to celebrate our anniversary and the hotel prepared a lovely anniversary set-up for us, which was a very thoughtful touch. The staff did try to resolve our room issue as well, and we appreciated their efforts.
Overall, it feels more like an older hotel that has been renovated rather than a genuinely new resort. Having previously stayed at another family resort in Bintan, I found that experience more polished despite it having fewer facilities on paper. Given the hype surrounding Mövenpick, I expected a more polished family resort experience.

MMarieKWThe free shuttle from the ferry to the resort was super smooth. We got a great fruit juice and a warm welcome from the front desk. Lots of free activities there too.
I was really looking forward to the dance and aqua dance, but after waiting in the lobby, we found out there wouldn't be a class that day. It would've been nice if they'd put up a notice so we didn't wait for nothing.
Then we did other stuff like rock painting, animal education, and tie-dye tote bags, which was awesome. I even chatted with Mizhelle as she passed our dried tie dye the next morning while she did my henna – such a happy person!
The room was pretty clean and roomy. The AC worked great, and they even gave us a cute, big woven bag to use. I brought earplugs because reviews said you could hear people outside.
But all we heard were buggies, crickets, and frogs, so it was all good.
Our stay included daily breakfast, and the hospitality was amazing. They greeted us by name, which made us feel special. The staff even remembered our names when we just walked by them – effort 10/10!
We did the BBQ, which was an 8/10. It was a cozy dinner setup. Unfortunately, there were tons of mosquitoes feasting on us while we BBQ'd and ate, even with repellent on. The staff forgot the oil spreader, so we couldn't cook for a bit. But the night was still a great experience for us both.
Definitely a memorable vacation. I just wish the lagoon stayed open longer than 6 pm.

The staff there were really friendly polite and thoughtful too!
After picking us up from the ferry terminal, Nabil, asked us if we needed anything to buy and he drove us to get what we needed before heading to the resort!
Upon reaching the resort, we were greeted warmly by the staff and checked in. The restaurant within the resort serves delicious food and a wide variety of dishes to choose from!
Recommend RICA RICA restaurant that serves authentic indonesian food and is affordable !!
The room itself is very clean and comfortable to stay in! We also went to the public pool for a swim and it was just so nice with the sea breeze 👍🏻
Wanted to try out island hopping but the weather conditions weren’t good so had to give it a miss. Instead we went to the spa area for a massage, it was ookayy
They also provide bicycles 🚲 at your room and you can cycle around the resort which was really nice!!
I would come back again someday!! Not a place to missed when staying in Bintan resort to relax ! Good job to all the service staff !!

Best described as ”luxury boutique”, the management team and staff have perfected the art of hospitality here.
I and my partner can find nothing to fault, from the quality of the welcome to the beautiful pool to the plentiful, varied and high quality breakfast buffet.

We had a truly pleasant and comfortable stay at Grand Mercure Batam. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the warm and gracious hospitality of the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming, and their genuine warmth and sincerity made us feel very well taken care of throughout our stay.
Our room was beautifully clean, spacious, and comfortable, providing a lovely space for our family to unwind and relax. The hotel’s location is also wonderfully convenient, with shopping malls, popular local cafés, and renowned seafood restaurants just a short distance away. It made exploring Batam and enjoying the local food scene effortless.
The breakfast experience was another highlight. There was an impressive variety of choices, and everything we tried was delicious and well presented. We especially enjoyed the grilled meat, which was exceptionally tasty and definitely one of our favourites.
One area that could perhaps be improved is the soundproofing of the rooms. As we were travelling with a toddler, we could occasionally hear vehicle noise from outside at night, which disrupted our little one’s sleep slightly. Hopefully, this can be enhanced in the future to make the stay even more peaceful for families.
Overall, Grand Mercure Batam offered us a beautifully comfortable and memorable stay, combining a convenient location, spacious and immaculate rooms, delicious dining, and genuinely warm hospitality.
We truly enjoyed our time here and would be very happy to return for another relaxing stay in Batam. 🤍✨
