We come to Nepal at least once a year to hike around Mt Everest. The three passes, Chola, Renjo, and Khongma are a challenge at age 71 carrying our own packs. We always stay at Black Diamond because it’s right at the airport. The shopping in Themel is only 6 km away by taxi. We’ve been staying here since 2018. The hotel is slightly ageing and the restaurant has always been good. Two coffee shops are 30 meters away for excellent coffee. The rooms are large the beds are soft and you can sleep well. Not too expensive.
Location is amazing in Thamel, super easy to walk around for food and many things
Staff at front desk was very friendly and helpful
And there is a cocktail coupon every day
Only breakfast was too late because my schedule to leave at 9 am but it was ready at 8.30 am and two days in a row. Overall it is very nice hotel to stay when you go to Kathmandu
Me and my mum recently had the pleasure of staying at Royal Boutique Hotel. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. It is close to the airport which is quite convenient. The staff was professional, welcoming and attentive. The check in went smoothly. The room was lovely and spacious and clean. Food provided was fantastic.
All the services were top notch. Taxi services are also available through hotel if you need to go places during your stay there.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for a hassle free stay. Staff members always happy to go an extra mile to make sure your stay is comfortable as possible.

ผผู้เข้าพักI stayed for 2 nights, it didn't feel safe for me as a solo woman traveller. One the first night around 11pm there were 3-4 men shouting and laughing and knocked my door. I was scared and called the reception. The phone wire was not connected to the phone, i have to hold it tight to the phone while i was speaking. It was a terrifying experience. When in emergency even the phone wasn't working! the receptionist took 30 min to for the men to calm down. The next day morning the receptionist told me they men moved out. But i saw them in the evening in the hotel. Didn't feel safe. Again, the men, shouting and aloud. Still i couldn't sleep there, awake whole two nights i stayed there, didn't feel safe. The place was clean. Location was good.
