PPetPetToursA hidden gem tucked away in the small streets of Bakuo, less than 10 minutes walk to Jokhang temple. This hotel is honestly the most unique place I have ever stayed, it used to be the home of Lhasa’s King Gesar, turned into a museum.
The hotel staff we very friendly, had a nice family feel and I was coming home at the end of every stay. The two cats at the reception area are a highlight of this hotel.
They do a daily incense burning ritual around 9ish, which got to take part in. If you’re interested, head down to the courtyard before that time.
If you’re looking for a modern hotel, this isn’t the place for you but if you’re looking for something with history and heritage, this is definitely the hotel for you!
Just something’s to note, not the whole hotel has lifts. Check with the hotel first if the room your looking has lift lift access first if thats a concern for you. And the room did not have a fridge, but we hanged our stuff outside the window as it’s so cold 😅.
Thanks for an amazing stay, definitely recommend!
ผผู้เข้าพักThis hotel is located right next to the entrance of Barkhor Street and Jokhang Temple, close to shopping and transportation to other places in Lhasa, so the location is perfect.
The service is the most impressive, my hotel room was facing the street and there was a loud speaker shouting all day and all night, I had to complaint to the hotel staff even though the speaker was not part of the hotel. They immediately negotiated with the the relevant people, and offered to switch my room to face away from the street. Also the hotel staff helped me to reserve the critical sites and train. I cannnot be more thankful for their help.
The room was big and they cleaned every day, they did a good job cleaning the room.
The onsite laundry facility was helpful too since I cannot affort to pay for laundry service.
All in all, I am very happy with the stay, and will return again if I come back to Lhasa.
