Check in 28/3 Check out 1/4 I had a wonderful stay here to visit the sights of Nuwara Eliya. At the time of my visit, it was pre-awurudu so it was relatively quiet, I'd heard this is where many locals come for their new year staycation because of the much more manageable climate! My room was clean and comfortable, plenty of choice for buffet breakfast and dinner (I had half board), in a gorgeous building with stunning views on the view deck overlooking the town and Lake Gregory. And the reception staff were lovely to chat with every day. They also arranged a brilliant tuktuk driver, Samara, for me who really looked after me on all my day trips. If you need a reliable tuk driver who knows and is passionate about the local area, ask for Samara 🙏😊 I asked for an early morning breakfast box for a morning hike in Horton Plains, but there was a bit of miscommunication and I was given chicken sandwiches instead of cheese, when I don't eat meat 🙈 Still had enough to eat with the pastries, fruit etc, and Laxman - the Operations Manager - put things right for me immediately on my return with complimentary lunch to apologise. My thanks to you 🙏😊 This didn't overshadow my time here at all. Finally, I want to give my deepest thanks to Naduni, FOH in the restaurant. My stay at this hotel was the first stop on a 3-week solo journey through Sri Lanka, which can feel daunting! But Naduni's warmth whenever I attended the restaurant eased those fears. She works especially hard with humility, courtesy, friendliness and deep pride. My time in Nuwara Eliya was all the more enjoyable thanks to her kindness and care.
