"I recently stayed at this hotel and while it had some redeeming qualities, my overall experience left a lot to be desired. Here's a breakdown of my stay:
Pros
1. **Affordable Price**: The room rates were budget-friendly, making it suitable for travelers looking for a cost-effective option.
2. **Staff**: The staff was polite and tried to be helpful, though they seemed understaffed at times.
Cons
1. **Amenities**: Basic amenities like toiletries, fresh towels, and a working air conditioner felt subpar. The Wi-Fi was slow and unreliable, making it difficult to stay connected.
2. **Noise**: The walls were thin, and I could easily hear people talking and walking in the hallways, which made it hard to get a good night's sleep.
Overall Experience:
It might be a decent option for someone on a tight budget and just to stay for one night, but I would recommend spending a little more to stay somewhere with better facilities."
"The location is ideal, in downtown Houston, a few blocks away from the convention center and discovery park. The building is beautiful and historic with a gorgeous lobby, comfortable chairs, a cafe/latte/cappuccino machine, and cute restaurant open for breakfast lunch and dinner. I was on the 12th floor in the rusk house portion of the building which had very nice rooms that were ideal for single people. There was a coffee maker but no fridge, which I did not miss. The bedding was beautiful and had daily housekeeping, nicely appointed products in the bathroom. I had a four night stay and loved everything about the space. I would highly recommend it especially considering how much cheaper it is than other hotels."
"Transport from airport took ages to collect & drop so lost most of the afternoon after a 16 hr flight. Hotel preferences weren’t adhered to. However the front desk lady on duty was amazing and arranged for a better option for us even though they were pretty full. Beds were very comfortable. Coffee machine in lobby was not working so couldn’t have a coffee before our early morning departure unfortunately. Only real fault with this hotel is I would say it’s very outdated and needs some maintenance. Probably wouldnt stay here again but it’s pretty cost effective and close to airport if you have an early morning flight."
"When we arrived at our first room, we did a walk through. We found the air in the room musty and unpleasant. The toilet was unclean. We immediately went to ask the hotel receptionist for another room or to have someone come and clean it. We were given a second room. The second room had a burned out lamp, with a melted plastic globe, and a non-functioning phone. Once again, we asked the hotel receptionist to send someone to replace the lamp and to connect a working telephone. We got a third room. The third room was cleaner, better smelling, and the phone and lamps were working ok. There was a leaking faucet in the tub, but we were fine with that. I was glad the hotel receptionist was helpful in getting us cleaner room, with better working devices. Sadly, the next day, I asked for an office area where I could use a computer and internet, and they said the computer was not working."
