SShalinda WThis homestay (B&B) was Amazing! Coming from the US, and not being able to speak Chinese, we just planned to not take advantage of any hotel transportation. This hotel reached out to us via chat on Trip and coordinated pick-up a couple days prior, allowing us to use translation apps. Our train arrived several hours before scheduled check-in for the hotel, wasn’t an issue at all. Check-in was quick and we received some local goodies as well as a fruit basket. Amenities for the room are amazing, room itself is fully electronic and state of the art. The blow dryer was Dyson! We planned to walk to lunch, they kindly gave us a free ride. Breakfast was great as well with some local specialities (all fresh, not a buffet). This homestay was so welcoming and amazing, it made us sad we had only planned one night in Datong!

KKatrin SauthoffMy husband and I are a couple from Germany. We booked two nights there, and our decision was absolutely the right one. From the initial contact (via the WeChat app, which is essential for your entire trip to China) to our departure, everything was perfect. We were picked up from the train station by car and taken to the hotel free of charge. This is especially good for Western tourists who don't speak Chinese. The first problem would have been explaining to the taxi where we wanted to go. The lobby and rooms are very beautiful, stylish, and equipped with the highest technology. Most of the guest rooms face the inner courtyard, so you can sleep very quietly and comfortably. The beds are very large and comfortable. The hotel's location is excellent. It's located on the northern edge of the Ancient City of Datong, just a few minutes' walk from the tourist attractions and the colorful and lively old town. So you can enjoy it without being disturbed by noise. I would especially like to emphasize the friendliness of the staff. Unfortunately, we don't speak Chinese, and the staff didn't speak English, but with the help of modern communication tools (language apps), we understood each other perfectly. Every request was fulfilled. There's even the option to use a washing machine in the basement of the hotel. This is especially fantastic for tourists on longer trips to China, as it allows for easy laundry. If you ever come back to China, we will definitely book this hotel again.

ผผู้เข้าพักWe took a 23-day trip through China, staying in 9 different hotels. Without hesitation, I can say that our stay at Floral stood out in many ways. First, the hotel's structure is very beautiful and has been renovated while staying true to the traditional style of the region. The hotel room itself was probably the most beautiful we had seen on our entire trip: spacious, with windows that actually opened, good air conditioning, and modern decor and furniture without being over the top. Second, the hotel's location is within the boundaries of the city wall and is part of the old town, so beautiful to walk around and see the traditional houses - many of them renovated according to the traditional style. And third and most importantly, the kindness of the people who work at the hotel. I have never felt so welcome anywhere on holiday as at this place. Unfortunately, I arrived with health problems and needed antibiotics - equivalents of the ones I had brought from Europe. I asked the reception where I could find the closest pharmacy, but rather than guiding me there, Xiao Liu, the lady at the reception, figured out for me which antibiotic would be the right one and got it for me. The same when we needed a suitcase, rather than sending me to the shop she inquired about our desired suitcase and in one hour it was there. Drinks are complementary at any time of the day, and the breakfast (Chinese and international - sandwiches) was generous and unlimited. When we were running late coming back from the grottoes and needed to catch a train, Xiao Liu helped us out by bringing us all our suitcases directly to the train station. We will never forget all these acts of kindness and we are still grateful to her and the entire hotel staff for making us feel so much at home. Datong will stay in our minds and hearts forever thanks to the people of the Floral hotel. Datong is special enough for all the incredible cultural sights you can visit - but our stay there will never be forgotten thanks to the beauty of the Floral Hotel and its amazing people. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

ผผู้เข้าพักI was greeted with a fruit platter during check-in, which was a wonderful welcome gesture considering I left my home about 24 hours earlier, traveling non-stop from California to Datong, China. The Inn provides a wonderful experience for the first-time foreign visitor. The interior decor has that Chinese charm consisting of artwork, a book display, an aquarium with an auspicious collection of 8 large fishes (carp, I think), in-room tea set with an on-table electric stove, which would be unique to most Westerners. The glass flooring adds an extraordinary appeal since I have never experienced that in a hotel before, and I have traveled to dozens of countries. The Inn is well located, a short bus ride to Datong Railway Station (for non-high-speed rail travel)*, and a short taxi ride to Datong South Railway Station (for high-speed rail travel)**. It is just next to Datong City Wall. You can walk along the top of the City Wall at no cost. A 10-20 minute walk takes you to nearly all the attractions within the ancient City Wall. Here you will also find a variety of restaurants serving local food as well as souvenir shops. There is also a small shop that sells sundry items including drinks (beer included) within a 5-minute walk from the Inn. Across from this sundry shop, is a shop that specializes in ancient Chinese clothing (Hanfu dress). They can dress you up, cosmetics included. The Inn provides directions to Yujian Yun Gang - a popular destination for travelers to Datong. Here you will see ancient Buddhist cave art, including large and tall (several stories tall) sculptures. It takes two bus rides to get there, 1RMB per ride. My booking choice was for either a guest room on the 1st or 2nd floor but was assigned a wonderful 2nd-floor guest room. The owners of the Inn were exceptionally friendly. I met both the mother and her daughter. My room was professionally cleaned and provided with drinking bottled water daily. If I return to Datong in the future, I will certainly book a room at this Inn. *I took a train from this station to travel south to Xinzhou after checking out. **I arrived in Datong from Beijing Daxing International Airport

JJames56We had a happy experience checking in at this hotel. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. We loved our room! It was bright and cheerful and spacious. The shower and drainage was very good. Location is fantastic, near the railway station and many bus services, especially for going to Yungang grottoes. There was a mall, with a hypermarket in the basement and minimarts around. What we like most was there was a washing machine and dryer for guests to use, free of charge! If we ever come to Datong again, we would stay here. Highly recommend this place!

ผผู้เข้าพักโรงแรมมีที่จอดรถชั้นใต้ดินแต่ไฟมืดไปหน่อยไม่ได้ทานอาหารในโรงแรมครับหลังจากเที่ยวชมเมืองโบราณแล้วผมนั่งแท็กซี่ไปโรงแรมราคากว่า 8 หยวน ซึ่งสะดวกกว่าครับ ในโรงแรมสี่ดาวในราคานี้ยังถือว่าคุ้มอยู่มาก สถานที่ท่องเที่ยวหลายแห่งในเมืองโบราณปิดทำการเวลา 5 โมงเย็น เราคิดว่ามันร้อนเกินไปในช่วงบ่ายจึงออกไปช้าๆ ไปไปก่อนก็ได้แต่ถ่ายรูปนอกรั้วก็ดีนะครับ โดยส่วนตัวผมคิดว่าวิวเมืองโบราณยามค่ำคืนสวยกว่าตอนกลางวันเพราะแสงเยอะ
