Having an opportunity to visit in Bangor, I decided to stay at this Holiday Inn. My first impression of the property was positive. Although the hotel looks dated from the outside, there are numerous renovations inside the rooms. Upon checking in, I mentioned that I had mobility issues that precluded me from stepping into a standard bathtub. The front desk clerk was gracious enough to upgrade me to a junior suite with a walk in shower. I was very impressed with this level of customer service. One thing of which to be aware is that the hallways are not typically situated. By that I mean the building is designed in a box pattern. The room I was offered is in the back of the building so I had to drive around and enter in one of the many entrances. Not a problem as my room was just a few steps from this entrance. The room is well equipped with the standard amenities one would expect to find in a full service hotel. The bed was big and comfortable. The only negative aspect I encountered was the fact that the rooms are not totally sound-proof. I was able to hear conversations coming from the room next door. Not a valid reason for not booking at this place, but keep this in mind if total peace and quiet is what you seek. The hotel is situated next to the interstate which makes it easy to come and go. Traffic noise was not an issue. There is a pub and restaurant onsite offering an array of menu choices. Also here is a pool and small workout facility. Overall, my stay was relaxing and I went away quite satisfied. If you are seeking accomodation in the Bangor area, I would recommend the Holiday Inn.
