The hotel is beyond expectations. It is located in Xiaodonghai Bay. We were vacationing with our daughter of 1.4 years old. We went for complete privacy, silence and relaxation. The hotel consists only of villas, there are about 30 of them, there are no building rooms, which ensures privacy and silence. The territory is large, incredibly well maintained and very beautiful. Beauty is in the details. The villa itself is well planned and consists of a main house and a small additional one. We had lunch here when we ordered something in the room. The personnel brought a high chair for my daughter and it stayed here during all days of our vacation. Interestingly, they don't just bring food to the room, but also serve the table. It's nice. In general, the staff is as attentive as possible, this is reflected in the little things. The breakfast was included in the accommodation, so we either went to the hotel restaurant for lunch and dinner (only Thai and Chinese cuisine, but there is a children's menu and we ordered something for our daughter), and something Thai for ourselves. Everything is cooked very tasty and of high-quality. It was at this hotel that I first tasted the local Hainan dessert - cold coconut milk soup with fruits and cereals. I'm not a big fan of Chinese food in general, but I really liked this soup! We also ordered food directly to the villa through the Chinese app Elema (饿了么), which is in Chinese. We didn't go to street restaurants. In general, in China, the delivery of ready-made food is incredibly developed, you can order anything and anywhere. If we needed a taxi, we ordered it through the Chinese Didi (弟弟）app. But we didn't want to leave the villa and the hotel at all, we spent most of our time by the pool. Usually we need the sea, but this time it was so good to chill out at the villa that we somehow didn't need the sea). Moreover, we have a little daughter, and so far it has been more convenient to swim with her in our own pool than at sea. We used Alipay to pay everywhere. During our stay, we visited the spa several times, took various treatments (body scrubs, various massages), we really liked everything. They do it efficiently, I recommend it. I also recommend trying small drinking coconuts in Hainan - they are divine! The very taste of a rich bounty)). Look for small brownish colors, no more than 10 cm in diameter, it has a very rich thick sweet taste of coconut. About the sea: if you are looking for active swimming in the sea, the hotel may not be suitable. It's very shallow here (that's okay) and after about 100 meters, where it's still shallow, there's an underwater breakwater. Therefore, if you swim, you will just bump into it. Because of this, there are no waves in the bay. But there are algae growing on the bottom. It may be possible to swim well during a very strong tide, but it was not possible to swim during our visit. That's why we spent the day at the villa, swimming and relaxing there. And after sunset, we went out for a walk along the shore, admired the sunset, played with our daughter in the sand and on the playground, and also strolled along the pier. For some reason, for the first time, we really didn't really want to swim in the sea). In general, if you want to spend your entire vacation in complete relaxation with the chirping of birds, the sound of the wind and the lapping of waves, then I definitely recommend Banyan tree.

My stay at the Grand Metropark in April was a true revelation. Yalong Bay itself is an amazing place, but the hotel turned our trip into a real fairy tale. The grounds are huge and very well maintained, immersed in the greenery of tropical gardens – a true oasis for body and soul. By the way, even though the beach is a bit away, it turned out to be a plus: the beach was always uncrowded, clean, and this private little paradise felt like it belonged only to us (and the shuttle runs every half hour, so it’s no trouble at all). I love to go for morning runs, and the conditions here were absolutely perfect! In the morning, when the air is still fresh, it's especially pleasant to run along the paths that wind through all that lush greenery. The light tropical mist and the birdsong give you energy for the whole day. And imagine our surprise when, during one of those runs, we ran into the hotel's general manager himself, Mr. Chen Dexiong, who was also out for his morning run! That kind of moment is priceless – you immediately feel that there's a special atmosphere of care and attention to every guest. The food here deserves a song of its own. Breakfasts and dinners were magnificent: a huge selection of dishes, from your usual scrambled eggs to the freshest seafood and the delights of Asian cuisine, which could be prepared right in front of you or in special hot pots. All the staff are incredibly kind and friendly, and the villa cleaning was impeccable. In short, Grand Metropark is not just a hotel – it's a place you want to return to again and again. For me, it was the best investment in my own rest and recovery. I would be very happy if my review proves useful. Happy travels to you all!

Of course, some areas could use minor cosmetic updates, but overall everything looks neat and well-maintained, and the hotel definitely offers good value for money. The pools are clean and not crowded at all. I think this is because there are many villas on the hotel grounds with private pools, so guests who want to swim often use their villa pools. As a result, the shared pools are mostly empty and very relaxing. All rooms have a nice view of the hotel grounds, and it’s quiet. The food is delicious, especially the breakfasts, and there is a wide variety of options for lunch and buffet-dinner, including excellent seafood and meat dishes. The only downside is that the hotel does not have its own beach. Guests need to go to beaches of other hotels or use the sandy areas without sun loungers. Overall, everything is fantastic. The staff is friendly and attentive, the hotel grounds are beautifully landscaped, and it’s perfect for a relaxing stay. I would definitely recommend it for families, couples, or anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

Overall, the stay was satisfactory. Unfortunately, there was no possibility to order drinks after 9 p.m., as the restaurant closes at that time and the bar was not open at all during our stay. We extended our booking by one additional night before our original arrival via trip.com. It was therefore very disappointing that our original reservation via *********** (5 nights) could not be moved one day earlier due to a flight change—even though this request was made three months in advance. Instead, the hotel only offered us the option to cancel the entire booking (with cancellation fees for all nights) and make a new reservation. In our opinion, shifting the stay by one day with the same number of nights should have been possible given the timeframe. As a result, we booked an additional night separately.
