Mount Esquilli is surrounded by many historic squares and interesting buildings. It has excellent geographical location and is close to Rome's most famous tourist attractions, including the spectacular Colosseum. The Roman aqueduct used to be situated here, but the main attraction of the area was the Pope's Cathedral of the Virgin Mary, with a granite Obelisk in front of the square, which is said to be the era of the Empire.
