Catacombs of Saint Sebastian

The St. Basidion Cemetery is a long way from the city centre. Only a bus can get there. An English tour guide leads the tour in the underground cemetery. It has Bernini, the last statue of Jesus, the famous artist behind St. Peter's Cathedral. There are three floors altogether, and the ticket is 8 euros.

This is a large tomb. There are many martyrs buried here, but the most intuitive feeling is the white plaster sculpture with the chest (shot in the foot by an arrow). The murals on the roof have a cascade effect. The two angels are very lovely in the middle of the picture.
