Bupalan Temple is famous for its bald Liu and Lao Zhou who sold cultural relics here in the movie Tai Kung. Bupalan Temple was first built in 1497 AD, during the most prosperous period of Buddhism in the Lanna Dynasty. The architecture of this garden temple also draws on the style of Burmese architecture and Lanna architecture. For example, the front of the main hall is a double curved line structure, which is a typical Burmese style, and the roof is in Lanna style. There are also many animal and human idols in the Bupalan Temple. Their shapes are simple and lifelike. In the original Bupalan Temple, there are Buddhist schools for children. Monks hope that children can integrate into the temple more easily, so they add some lovely cartoon elements to the temple.
