The museum was built in 1917 and is located on the South Bank of Brisbane. The Museum has dazzling displays, including models of ships replicated from wrecks off the Queensland coast. The restored Royal Australian Navy ship Diamantina is the treasure of the museum. You can climb the frigate built in 1945 to find traces of the fierce naval battle. Another highlight of the museum is a huge map showing the location of more than 1,500 wrecks in the Queensland Sea since 1791, most of which have sunk on rocks.
