Montreal's insectarium is right beside the biodome which is convenient if you're planning a double outing with young children. That said, this place is as interesting to teens and adults as it is for the young ones. There are thousands of different insect species crawling all over this place! There are live specimens and beautiful mounted displays with excellent explanations. Outside there are mounted perspex displays. If you're not into bugs I don't recommend you try this as an option, though. Lastly, if you get get in during the butterfly exhibit you will be astonished, it's well known in Montreal that the butterflies are the best our insectarium has to offer!

Really cool place where you can see bees and its hives up close. Not very big. The demonstration booth sometimes lets you hold harmless insects. It's very educational and with combination ticket along with Biodome or Botanic Garden, it's affordable and nice stop.

The Insectarium is included with your admission to the botanical gardens. There's some live exhibits with insects, but most of exhibits feature preserved animals. The butterflies were nice, but would have been better to have seen live ones. The information displayed is interesting too.
