The May 4th Square is named in memory of the May 4th Movement in order to defend Qingdao. It is divided into two parts: north and south. The north part is mainly green grassland, with various fountains as the main part. The music fountain at night sprays out from the ground with green grass against the light, as well as the surrounding tall buildings. It is very beautiful. The main sculpture of the South Square "May wind" forms the torch shape for the line of rotation upward. It is the landmark building of the new urban area of Qingdao City. This sculpture highlights the historical background of Qingdao as one of the fuses of the May 4th Movement. It contains a strong connotation of urging people to move upward. The steel plate structure combination of the fire-red spiral upward is expressed by concise lines and thick texture. A strong wind rising from the sky shocked people with strength. It is suggested that you spend about half an hour (take a boat tour) in Qingdao in summer. The sea breeze in Qingdao is still very cool. You must bring one more piece of clothes here. You can clearly feel that there is not a temperature on the other side of the city government and the seaside. Flying kites here is also a good choice when the wind is strong. You don't have to worry about kites can't fly at all. There are some matching commercial areas on the west side of the square. If there is a need for dining and shopping, you can go shopping. There are still many shops buying special products and souvenirs in May 4th Square, but they are almost the same as those in other scenic spots. The quality of things is not very good. The price can also feel obvious expensive. It feels like a bit of pit money. There are no souvenirs and special products here. The infrastructure around the square is very complete. Don't worry about not finding a place to eat, buy water and rest. But to buy souvenirs and specialties, we recommend you to go to someone's specialty shop in Taitung. When we travel, we buy souvenirs there. Their home is a net red specialty shop. They are different from other specialty shops. Their house is very clean and tidy. There are many things in the shop. The price is very fair and acceptable. Most importantly, their gum and black garlic are also included. Laoshan Green Tea, I bought some for the elderly at home to take back, highly praised, my wife also suspected that I bought less, should bring more fish fillets and squid shredded for children to eat. I personally like their beer crisps very much. The taste is easy to accept and very distinctive. They are made by fermentation of beer.
