The Monument to Independence was erected to commemorate Pedro I's announcement in 1822 that Brazil was separated from Portuguese colonial rule. The flame of freedom and independence was bright in front of the monument. The Brazilian flag was flying in the wind. The coffins of King and Queen Pedro were stored under the monument, but they did not go down, and it was not known whether they could be seen or not. On the other side of the road, in the park is the Palace of Pedro I. It is also quiet and has a lot of fitness people, but the palace has been closed for a long time.

Independent Park is composed of museums, gardens and independent monuments. Standing in front of the museum, you can have a bird's eye view of the garden and the independent monument. The flame in the bronze stove in front of the monument never dies out all the year round. On the ramp leading to the monument, many skateboarders, men, women, old and young, are enjoying themselves. On the roadside meadows and steps, people walking dogs and happy dogs constitute a happy, peaceful and leisure picture.
