Soon after I moved to the Silver Lake/ Echo Park area the park closed for renovations-- for two years. I was so bummed! However, those two years flew by and the wait was so worth it. The park is beautiful; the city did a wonderful job. The lake is clear with lotus flowers and lillie pads thriving everywhere. There are nice benches all throughout. Vendors sell goodies like shaved ice or roasted corn-on-the-cob. And most importantly, the community is truly enjoying it. I was here just last weekend and there was such diversity-- old, young, single, families, residents, tourists-- all enjoying what the park has to offer.
