Dexter's Thorton Park Review

Everything here was excellent from the service to the food. I will definitely be back. I love the area where it's locating and finding parking very easy. It's in a nice spot for walking around and exploring the shops and other eateries.

My family is completely obsessed with this place. It's an easy walk to so much downtown and parking isn't bad for it being downtown either. There are so many options and specials (the specials are usually extra amazing) and the price range varies with is great so you can go here for a quick casual meal or a nicer date/gathering. It's not formal by any means but there are higher priced dishes that are worth the extra $. Brunch is the best deal. Don't bother yourself with the tuesday night burger - it's worth it to just pay for the regular burger as it's a different patty, larger, higher quality and comes with fries/salad. I completely disagree with a recent review opposing the value - I think the value of what you get is exactly what makes this place a neighborhood gem. And the good vibes from staff of course.

My wife and I were invited by friends to see the Carol King musical at the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center in downtown Orlando. We had been there for other events but were always in a hurry and ate close to home. They suggested Dexter's in Thorton Park, which has a good reputation. It was busy with Saturday brunch but we waited for an outside table. My wife ordered the eggs benedict and I ordered the shrimp and grits. I have never been a grits fan but I saw someone else with the food and it looked different than other shrimp and grits I have seen. The waiter said the shrimp and grits were the best thing on the menu and they were amazing. Big Shrimp, a little hotness and well cooked cheese grits. I was talking about them all day and even suggested to my wife that we go back the next day! I tried the eggs benedict and they were good also. We will be back!

Staff very welcoming with my therapy dog. Good service and food. Indoor and outdoor staff were very solicitous.
