Coqui's Hideaway Review

After all day of driving around Hilo and visiting several attractions and the ocean, all we wanted was a quick place to eat a lunch before driving back to the Kona side of the island. We came upon this place and decided to get a light lunch. The diner offered a variety of typical lunch menu at very reasonable prices and the food was good and just perfect for a light lunch.

Family diner atmosphere. Could use some renovation. Very wide menu choices. We had sandwiches and they were good. Our waitress, Star, was very friendly and was hustling hard but trying to wait on the whole place and cashier as well was asking a bit too much of her. Really need two people during the lunch hour. It was OK but not remarkable.

Went there to support the entertainment and for some drinks and waitress never came to our table. We had to walk up to the bar every time to get a drink. They are rude and unfriendly. Wanted to order food but waitress told us we would have to go get our own menu from the kitchen.
