We went to Cangqiao Straight Street in the evening. From Shaoxing Xianheng Hotel, turn right and walk directly. It will be about 10 minutes. Scenic spots are free old streets. The real old street of Cangqiao Straight Street is north-south, south is People's Middle Road and north is City Square (next to Shaoxing Grand Theatre). People say that Shaoxing is Venice in the East. The hotel goes out and turns right along Luxun West Road to Cangqiao Straight Street, then goes north. However, this section is not a real Cangqiao Straight Street for sightseeing. To cross Renmin Road, there is a wall with the big "Dang" character on it. Walking on the road paved with bluestone slabs, you can see Shaoxing, a water town. Xiaoqiao Running Home is really a scenery of Shaoxing City. This is an old street residential building in Shaoxing City, mostly built in the Qing Dynasty. Its width is not more than a few feet, the riverside houses are scattered, and the banners of tea shops on both sides of the street are displayed. Families face water and pillow rivers. The road perpendicular to Cangqiao Straight Street must be connected by a small bridge. Standing on the bridge, you can see a small river from south to north. On both sides of the river, there are white walls with flower windows in the houses. Every family has stone steps leading to the river. Powder wall and basalt, reflected in the water, together create a deep and quiet mood. Occasionally, a black canopy boat rows across, the gentle water, the curved ancient bridge, the yellow banner hanging on the teahouse and restaurant, bringing you the unique charm of Jiangnan Waterfront, so long and fresh, intoxicating and difficult to forget. If Venice is compared to an oil painting, Cangqiao Straight Street here is an elegant ink painting.
