Lovely hotel near Wanda Jinfeng mall, surrounded by many pharmacies. The fruit shop downstairs called 小任果 is one of the best fruit chains in Yinchuan with a huge offering of fruits and yoghurt and nuts. We bought these to bring along for our day trips out of Yinchuan. Its nice to stay at Jingfeng district as its quieter than drum tower area.
The lobby has snacks, fruit and drinks all day for guests. Coffee was super !
We used the complimentary washer dryer which is a fabulous amenity.
We appreciated the free pickup at the airport which we arranged 1 day prior by telephone booking from Shanghai. The reception and the breakfast counter staff were all very friendly and helpful.
The toiletries were all upmarket
If there is any con - its the plump cleaning lady at the 3rd floor. She appeared unhappy when we asked her to top up the bath wash when it was low and she forgot to top up. She just handed us a bottle to install ourselves. She also didnt wipe the control panel for the room unlike her colleague who does it when she is on duty so we can see our finger prints still on the glass after housekeeping.
Small issue though. Cos everything else about the hotel was great
I made the perfect choice of hotel for my trip to Yinchuan! The location is extremely convenient, with easy and smooth access to popular scenic spots. The room is clean, tidy and odor-free, and the soft bedding instantly relieves travel fatigue. The staff are warm and thoughtful, check-in is efficient, and they kindly shared local delicacies and travel routes, which were especially useful. The facilities are complete and well-maintained, the shower water temperature is stable, and the sound insulation is excellent—my sleep quality was top-notch. The value for money is unbeatable; I’ll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Yinchuan!
The hotel is clean, it has strategic location, and delicious breakfast. The receptionist is charming and helpful.
They have a book in the room. They sent evening snacks (apples+rice crackers) and gave us a souvenir again in the morning.
Note: For international tourists, the hotel will need to borrow your passport for a while when checking in.
HHello there! If you are coming to this resort for the experience of sleeping in the desert, it delivers reasonably well. The tent I booked was simple but adequate, with a heating blanket provided for colder nights. Go with the mindset of seeking an experience rather than hotel-level comfort.
The activities are sold as packages, the most expensive being 400 RMB for 90–120 minutes. They are fun but short and tourist-oriented, still worthwhile if you’ve made the trip. You can also take a quiet stroll into the desert.
On the downside, although the resort is marketed for stargazing, there is too much light pollution to see the stars. The Wi-Fi is unreliable, which matters since reception in the area is poor. Snacks are limited, and while a set menu is proposed, individual dishes can be requested, but no prices are displayed for these, which feels lacking in transparency. Cleanliness of the shared bathrooms was also disappointing, as they were not serviced often enough.
Overall, while not perfect, the stay is still a unique experience. I recommend it for just one night, enough to enjoy the activities and the desert atmosphere!
ผผู้เข้าพักI absolutely loved this place! I’m writing this as a foreigner who went with 4 other foreigners for a special birthday weekend. First, the service. We have good Chinese proficiency, but those with limited to none will be fine. Most of the communication and coordination is handled via WeChat - which can auto translate. 东 “Dong” was our main contact. He rocked and gave us a real experience. He shuttled us in the sand jeep, gifted me a cake for my birthday, and was just an overall cool guy. Thanks! Second, the location and accommodations. If you stay near Desert Star, there’s a lot of people and campsites - that area seems like a bit of a tourist funnel. This area is located in the REAL sand dunes area. Further North, you actually cross into Inner Mongolia. The separation and distance is worth it. Makes for brighter stars and a more authentic experience. Third, the food. They were able to coordinate a whole lamb to be roasted for my birthday. It was absolutely extraordinary. The sides for it were some of the best I had on the entire trip - they have some skilled chefs there. This place has great reviews, and it’s worth it. I do recommend this to foreigners, and I hope I can return one day.
ผผู้เข้าพักStayed 1 night late August. 24kms and ¥40 taxi ride from ZhongweiNan fast train station. The area used to be a farm on a bend of the Yellow River. There are numerous accommodation areas, all looking similar. Apparently, one person owns all, and rents out clusters to various entities. Ours had a restaurant, but it wasn't open. For dinner and included breakfast, we went to the first restaurant on the right as you enter through the security gate from the carpark.
Peaceful part of the world. Facility had a nice little pool, but water was too cold. Too dangerous to swim in the river. As you face the river, we walked right to a glamping area and had a cold beer. There is a petting zoo type deal on the way. To the left, you eventually climb up to a mini version of the great wall. Keep walking, for a side track to the river, or up to a little pavilion after crossing a road.
+ points, well set up, peaceful and secure.
- points, zero English and most frustrating experience I've had in China even with apps both ways. We all travel with a price to quality/experience ratio. In this instance, far too high, and I wouldn't be back or recommend this place
ผผู้เข้าพักAbsolutely perfect!
The guesthouse gave us a free upgrade because we had two doggies which was a marvelous start. I love a guesthouse who is so hospitable and puts the needs of their visitors above cost.
The location is perfectly close to Helan mountain which made for a wonderful morning ride to the mountain.
The free wine taste each night was most welcomed and delicious. The free tour of their wine cellar was also a lovely touch.
Food was the best of the three Dalezhiye that we visited this trip. Five Star Michelin feeling in the restaurant with gorgeous views is the Helan mountain and greenery. Also close to many top vineyards in the area. Absolutely quiet and perfect for those wishing to leave the hustle and bustle.
Highly recommend for a relaxing and peaceful stay in Yinchuan.
JJago SevatarOf all the camps in the area to choose from I highly recommend staying at this particular one. The manager Wang Shiquan and his team are incredibly good hosts and made sure I had everything I needed. As a foreigner I felt incredibly welcomed and included.
The tents are of really good quality and very roomy. The beds are really comfy too. The activities are also plentiful with quad biking, camel riding and sandboarding. Shapotou is very close by too with much to do.
Ningxia is definitely an underrated province and I highly recommend anyone to come and see it and experience the kind hospitality of it's people from this camp.
Thank you for a great stay.
JJodie_92We had an absolute amazing time here at the Desert Camp 🐪 the staff were very helpful and we were able to do many activities the site provided.
Side Note: the address on trip is not accurate, you should call the camp before you travel to help you with directions.
