Room was clean and amenities were good. Had sufficient utensils and cookware for warming/preparing food. Bathroom supplies were above average and adequate. Staff were always courteous and helpful. Enjoyed out stay there. Only gripes are location is down the hill from the popular attractions, so had to climb up to go to those places. We didn't mind, but could be tedious for other, especially when there's snow; and our room was towards the back of the building with the gas station next door, which was busy and created a lot of noise. Other than these, the price was decent and close to bus stop.
Whilst the rooms are of a good size and the beds comfortable, the rooms need a lot of updating. The blinds did not fit the windows properly therefore letting in a lot of light at night, the safe did not work, the iron board leg had snapped leaving a sharp burr at one end and the toilet was not fixed properly to the wall. And because there are staff strikes ongoing, reception is regularly left unattended.
In the plus side, the restaurant in the lobby (which is not run by the hotel) is very good!
Everything is surprisingly good. Got a port view room.
However, the parking is shared with public although it is in door. The parking garage is too narrow compared to Double Tree.
Would like to come here again but parking would be a concern. And the swimming pool is a bit closing too early.
We really enjoyed our overnight stay at the Hotel Belley! It's steps from the Old City, and very close to the train station. The room was very clean, and well appointed with private bathroom, frig, and coffee. Easy check-in next door at the Hotel Saint-Paul.
Though other reviewers mentioned noise from the pub downstairs, it was very quiet during our Thurday night stay. We went to bed early and slept great.
I would highly recommend this as a budget alternative that doesn't feel like one.
