"The front agent is really helping. The room is compact and has everything you need, plus the have free refills for water. The highlight is that they have airport transfer for free, that's really helpful. Would really recommend if you need a place to stay during your trip to or from the airport."

"It's our 3rd stays in 2026 😀😀. Every staff in the hotel is excellent. This time we choosed to stay at Rm 1615, unfortunately it was too warm weather on the day and air conditioning couldn't make it to level as we need, so we asked to replace another room for the next 2 nights, then all were very good as usual. Breakfast was still very good and with variety of choice. Of course, I just ate what I choose. No more taking a lot of images, all images were already in my past review😀😀"

"Grand City Hall Medan is a genuinely impressive hotel and one of the better luxury stays in Medan. From the moment you arrive, you can immediately tell that this is a true five-star property. The lobby is constantly busy and lively, yet everything feels organised and well controlled. Despite the number of guests coming and going, the hotel maintains a polished and professional atmosphere. The room was excellent and easily one of the highlights of the stay. It was spacious, comfortable, and well maintained. Having access to the indoor pool added an extra touch of luxury and made the experience feel even more premium. The amenities provided were of good quality and reflected the hotel’s upscale positioning. The facilities are another strong point. The swimming pool is spacious and inviting, while the gym is large, well-equipped, and has everything needed for a proper workout. The hotel’s location is also fantastic, with plenty of restaurants, cafes, and places of interest within walking distance, making it convenient for both leisure and business travellers. Breakfast offers a very large selection of dishes, with plenty of local and international options available. While the variety is impressive, the taste of most items was simply decent rather than exceptional. There is certainly something for everyone, but the food itself doesn’t quite reach the same high standard as the rest of the hotel experience. Unfortunately, we experienced an accident during breakfast service. To the hotel’s credit, the staff handled the immediate situation quite well. We were promptly moved to another table and complimentary coffees were provided, which was appreciated. However, it felt like the incident should have been escalated further to management, where a more meaningful service recovery could have been considered. That said, the incident did not significantly affect our overall impression of the hotel. The quality of the rooms, facilities, and overall experience still stood out. Grand City Hall Medan delivers the comfort, amenities, and level of service expected from a five-star property, and it remains a hotel that I would happily recommend to anyone visiting Medan."

"โรงแรมหาใน Waze และ Google Map ไม่เจอ จนกระทั่งเราถามใครสักคน พนักงานต้อนรับพูดภาษาอังกฤษไม่ค่อยคล่อง ไม่เข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษของเรา แถมยังพูดภาษาอินโดนีเซียได้ไม่คล่องอีกด้วย จองห้องพักผ่าน trip.com และสัญญาว่าจะมีเตียงคิงไซส์ แต่พนักงานบอกว่าห้องอีโคโนมีทุกห้องมีเตียงควีนไซส์ เราพบว่าข้อมูลการจองทำให้เข้าใจผิดและรู้สึกเหมือนโดนหลอก ในห้องน้ำไม่มีกระดาษชำระให้ เลยขอไปสองครั้ง สัญญาว่าจะให้ แต่ก็ไม่ได้ หมอนในห้องไม่เหมาะกับคนทั่วไป และคู่ของฉันต้องเอาหมอน ”แบบเทียม” ออกมากกว่าครึ่งเพื่อลดความสูง (ฉันสูงกว่า 5 ฟุต ส่วนเขาสูงกว่า 6 ฟุต)... ไม่งั้นคงใช้หมอนแบบนี้ไม่ได้แน่ๆ"

"The stay was okay overall, but the experience felt bleak and impersonal. The room was acceptable and served its basic purpose, but there was very little atmosphere or warmth. What stood out most was the lack of customer support online — it was difficult to get help or answers before and during the stay, which made the experience more frustrating than it needed to be. It works if you just need a place to sleep, but don’t expect much support or engagement beyond that."

"Me and my family stayed for 2 nights and the staff at Grand Mercure made it well worth our while. We were allocated 2 conjoined rooms which was super thoughtful as it meant me and my husband were very well connected to our kids. It was also my birthday on the second night of our stay and the staff’s thoughtfulness shone through when they brought a cake with a candle to our table in the hotel restaurant and sung to me ( upon my daughters request). Would stay again and can’t recommend enough, an oasis in a dusty city!!"
