Libelula Tulum Beachfront Hotel

Libelula is a hidden gem in Tulum, amazing staff who makes you feel so comfortable that you feel at home, rooms are super clean and characteristic with mind blowing veiw, you don’t need to go out anywhere for food as you get the best homemade fresh Mexican dishes in there with delicious margaritas definitely going back there again ❤️

Our Airbnb host recommended this spot to spend a day on the beach. We arrived by scooter, signed in at the national reserve, Sian Ka’an, and located the entrance another km or so up the bumpy dirt road. The entrance is very private, there’s a sign and we rang the bell and the host came to let us in. We were allowed to parkour scooter inside the gate. Once we entered, it was truly a magical spot with private areas, beachfront, bohemian laid back vibe with a mix of guests. We felt incredibly welcomed and not rushed or hurried to order. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up going back two more days. We met some great people and the host, Armando and George. One of the most beautiful beaches we’ve ever visited.

We stayed in Beach Dune Suite that was very close to the beach. It is simple with a hint of natural architecture. Hotel experience : We so enjoyed the ambiance more importantly the kindness we received from the libelula workers. Must try is the shrimp tacos! The Libelula hotel really radiates the tulum vibe that includes priceless star gazing nights, sun, ocean and local visitors. Getting to town: No worries , rent a bicycle at the hotel. It’s so much fun to cruise into town without sitting in traffic with an over priced taxi rate. Our stay at Libelula was not only more than what we were expecting, it was exactly what we needed. A total disconnect and an absolutely spectacular escape. The location is incredible, and the site is amazing. But more than this, the team and the vibe are something of a cross between incredible night out at a sophisticated boutique hotel and a glamping hideaway in a nature reserve. The service, the tempo, the food, the comfort are all spot on. We will definitely be coming back! Noam

Warning do not stay here. we stayed here for three nights no hot water 2 nights no water at all once the hot water issue was resolved. No flushing toilets. Ac didn’t work for 2 out of 3 nights. Id you stay in one os the lower units you will hear every step from the above neighbors walls paper thin. This is not glamping! I will say Armando at the beach club was great and food was delicious! go to the beach club, but do not stay here!

We had a wonderful stay at Libélula on our honeymoon. The beach, rooms and the whole set-up are beautiful. Perfect if you are looking for a relaxed time away from the noise further up the beach, and a great location for visiting the Sian Ka'an Biosphere. All the staff are great. Jorge and Armando are so attentive but also always game to sit and chat with guests. Couldn't recommend more! Consider renting a car if you are looking to visit other locations nearby, because Libélula is a long way south of the town, and taxis are super expensive.

Truly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Karla (The Owner) helped me secure a spot at Libelula. I arrived to see a front entrance that said ‘Please Ring The Bell’… I couldn’t see anything. Clearly it was exclusive. Jorge greeted me at the door. He said ‘we were expecting you’… I thought that was so fly! He opened the door and I walk in to see what felt like a really dope outdoor lounge.. palms trees everywhere… the vibes was fire. I still hadn’t seen the beach tho… Jorge explains the rules of Libelula, how to order food and drinks and tells me I have a bed waiting for me in the back. I’m thinking ‘Bed?… By the beach?’… so I start heading towards the back the closer I get to the back, I can’t see anything but I hear ocean. I keep walking and there’s this zig-zag and as I get through I being to see beach and this BEAUTIFUL ocean in front of me and when I tell you I was Flabbergasted. Incredible, they had a bed waiting for me, there was a bar on the beach, Samuel (The bar attendant) made me the single BEST drink I’ve had on this trip! I had to take pics… I had the Al Paster Tacos(TOP TIER)… and the Ceviche(Finished it in 7mins! I timed it)… I swam in the ocean for about 40 mins… the water was perfect. I took a bunch of photos. I got to know Jorge and Samuel a little bit! Most of all this was all private vibes! Whew! 20/10 experience! I will definitely tell people about Libelula and I Absolutely will be back!

Best beach club, kitchen, signature drinks and service made with love you can taste and feel in Tulum. 🪄and a secret beach cenote if that wasnt enough! God i am grateful for this place 🙏🌟🎄 Ok last thing, you are closer to nature than any other place on the beach, and it comes to you in a magical way. The birds and even the sea turtles. GOD I LOVE THIS PLACE! 2 years, many many visits and they keep this place the same or make some minor nice changes. Please dont change too much. Keep it as is, perfecto!!!!!

We stayed in the sea cabana falling asleep to the sound of the waves and waking up to the sunrise. The beach is perfect, staff are amazing and the food incredible. We are so glad we came away from the crazy far down the beach to find paradise. If you are looking for something different, find it here!
