Immaculate hotel and room. The room facilities and comfort level was top drawer. The pillows especially meant an awesome sleep. The service was efficient and friendly at check in. The hotel is well located for the wetlands park. The area is very quiet on weekdays but there was coffee outlets and we found a good restaurant very nearby.

The Bali staff are very polite and friendly. They went out of their way to help me with my stay. The rooms are quite large and the beds are very comfortable with plenty of pillows. The shower had plenty of water pressure which is always nice. I want to call special attention to 2 people that were especially helpful and kind and really went above and beyond for hotel staff members in my view. This includes Fang Rui who helped me with ”all” my laundry and one of the manager's who name is Zhou Jianing made sure my stay and room requests were handled very quickly and easily.

此次入住寧海喜來登體驗超棒。酒店外觀宏偉壯觀，內部裝飾奢華典雅。房間寬敞明亮，設施一應俱全，智能馬桶、按摩浴缸等高端設備令人驚喜。服務更是無可挑剔，非常感謝前台Birdy和Meral為我們佈置了精美的房間，超讚！酒店的餐廳提供各種精緻美食，無論是早餐的豐富多樣，還是晚餐的高品質料理，都讓人回味無窮。健身房、水療中心等休閑設施也非常出色，多次入住體驗下來都非常的完美！

We had another fantastic stay at the Howard Johnson Dongqian Lake! It’s incredibly family-friendly; my daughter absolutely loved the kids' facilities. The deer farm is a lovely touch, and the Rookery Restaurant is stunning, offering truly awesome views. Most importantly, the staff are both friendly and attentive. Thank you for another wonderful stay!

## Park Hyatt Nirvana: A Serene Jiangnan Dream by Dongqian Lake As our car wound along the lakeside road, the understated grey-tiled roofs and white walls of the Park Hyatt Ningbo came into view. This luxurious sanctuary, transformed from an ancient Jiangnan water village, seamlessly blends traditional architectural elegance with modern sophistication. Upon arrival, May, the Front Office Manager, greeted us with a warm smile that instantly melted away our travel fatigue. With professionalism and attention to detail, she introduced the hotel’s amenities and kindly recommended an upgrade to the Lakeside Suite—a decision that immersed us in a dreamlike Jiangnan experience far beyond our expectations. The Lakeside Suite framed Dongqian Lake like a living ink-wash painting. Each morning, we opened the floor-to-ceiling windows to mist-kissed waters resembling a classical scroll; by dusk, the lake shimmered in amber hues under the setting sun, dotted with distant sailboats. Inside, the suite masterfully balanced traditional Chinese aesthetics with contemporary comfort—exquisitely carved screens divided the tranquil living space, embroidered cushions complemented modern art pieces, and the freestanding bathtub by the window created the illusion of floating above the lake. The smart bedside control system, allowing us to adjust lighting and curtains with a touch, harmonized technology with timeless elegance. May’s service was nothing short of impeccable. Noticing our preference for quiet mornings, she proactively adjusted housekeeping schedules. When we expressed interest in local flavors, she not only recommended authentic Ningbo restaurants but also hand-drew a map of nearby attractions. These thoughtful, personalized touches transformed a routine stay into a heartfelt experience. At checkout, a carefully prepared gift and a handwritten note from May added the perfect sentimental farewell. Park Hyatt Ningbo redefines luxury through details—not in opulent extravagance, but in the artful fusion of cultural heritage, intuitive service, and refined design. Here, every corner whispers a Jiangnan tale, and every gesture carries genuine warmth. I planned a family trip close to Shanghai and this Hotel was an excellent choice for a calm, relaxing family stay. However, I have particularly chosen this hotel because it was stated as *pets are allowed for request(free) and I booked a Queen room with lake view. As I arrived this hotel, it turns out that I had to upgrade my booking to a Pet room which wasn’t featured in trip.com website so I had to pay approx 1000 rmb per night for my dog. The pet room had a balcony with a little grass but I kept thinking that it should have been clearly informed or stated. So if you plan to stay here with your pet, bearing in mind the total cost for a pet room will be around 2400rmb inc.VAT. Nevertheless the hotel is nicely located with a good lake view and the short trip around Dongqian lake was not bad. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for a pet owner though. If you have children this hotel might be a good choice.

The Portman is my favourite hotel in Ningbo. It’s very conveniently located, close to the city centre, subway station, shops, and restaurants. It’s always quiet inside the hotel, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Our room had an iron, a washing machine, and a bath, and the bed was comfortable. I look forward to staying at the Portman again.
