"## Park Hyatt Nirvana: A Serene Jiangnan Dream by Dongqian Lake As our car wound along the lakeside road, the understated grey-tiled roofs and white walls of the Park Hyatt Ningbo came into view. This luxurious sanctuary, transformed from an ancient Jiangnan water village, seamlessly blends traditional architectural elegance with modern sophistication. Upon arrival, May, the Front Office Manager, greeted us with a warm smile that instantly melted away our travel fatigue. With professionalism and attention to detail, she introduced the hotel’s amenities and kindly recommended an upgrade to the Lakeside Suite—a decision that immersed us in a dreamlike Jiangnan experience far beyond our expectations. The Lakeside Suite framed Dongqian Lake like a living ink-wash painting. Each morning, we opened the floor-to-ceiling windows to mist-kissed waters resembling a classical scroll; by dusk, the lake shimmered in amber hues under the setting sun, dotted with distant sailboats. Inside, the suite masterfully balanced traditional Chinese aesthetics with contemporary comfort—exquisitely carved screens divided the tranquil living space, embroidered cushions complemented modern art pieces, and the freestanding bathtub by the window created the illusion of floating above the lake. The smart bedside control system, allowing us to adjust lighting and curtains with a touch, harmonized technology with timeless elegance. May’s service was nothing short of impeccable. Noticing our preference for quiet mornings, she proactively adjusted housekeeping schedules. When we expressed interest in local flavors, she not only recommended authentic Ningbo restaurants but also hand-drew a map of nearby attractions. These thoughtful, personalized touches transformed a routine stay into a heartfelt experience. At checkout, a carefully prepared gift and a handwritten note from May added the perfect sentimental farewell. Park Hyatt Ningbo redefines luxury through details—not in opulent extravagance, but in the artful fusion of cultural heritage, intuitive service, and refined design. Here, every corner whispers a Jiangnan tale, and every gesture carries genuine warmth. "Shangri-La is a good hotel. The rooms are cosy and clean. Buffet restaurant has a good variety of food and the price is reasonable. However, it closes at 9pm which is too early. There's another restaurant/bar but it was always empty. The location of the hotel is a bit far from places of interest."

"There are not enough seating places in the lobby. I am missing vegetables at breakfast - like a vegetable salad (there is only lettuce or chopped vegetables) The waitresses who are supposed to serve the coffee only showed up at one of the 5 meals."

"I had a great time staying at this hotel. The location is very convenient—it’s close to a mall, a museum, and many different restaurants. Getting to restaurants and shopping areas is quick and easy, and I also appreciated being able to order items and have them delivered directly to my room. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options. The food was well prepared, and I really enjoyed it. The hospitality stood out the most—the staff were friendly, polite, helpful, and very welcoming throughout my stay. My room was a good size, clean, and comfortable. The exterior of the hotel is beautiful, and I liked the layout with different buildings (Block A and Block B). I stayed in Block B. The only minor issues were related to construction next to the hotel, which caused some noise. However, the hotel handled this very thoughtfully by providing a notice, along with eye masks and earplugs, which I truly appreciated. Another small inconvenience was that my room was very far from the elevator, requiring a long walk through the hallway. It would be helpful if there were an additional elevator or easier access to the far end of the building. Overall, this was a wonderful stay, and despite the small inconveniences, I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again."

"I checked in early in the morning which the hotel didnt have rooms yet, so receptionist Babbby served me very well, complimentary upgrade, complimentary breakfast and arranged to take my luggage to the room when ready while I was out, great service. The only thing is when I got to room 3009 as the corridor end room, , the electricity must have problems, lights could not turn on, the bathroom lights turned on but for 1 sec and turned off itself, I repeated and played around the switch a few times then gave up, so when i was just about to walk out with my luggage, it turns on, the curtain motor closed 2/3 and stopped untill i played around with the switch , suggest hotel to do maintenence for the room or stay away."
