I booked my wife to stay at this hotel recently and she loved it. I needed to be in Paris, and decided to try it myself. It is now the place I will always try to stay in Paris. The great thing about this hotel is that it is a perfect trade-off of price/location. In September, we stayed at the Faubourg Sofitel (also Accor) which is about as 'Prime Paris' as you can get. Right next door to the Elysee. For that, you got a hotel which was about 50% more expensive, for 40% less product. SO/ is central, but a bit on the edge, and for me that is worth every cent of the tradeoff. Additionally, the tradeoff places you right next to the river with views of Paris that are sensational. And anyway you are 5 mins on foot to the Places des Voges - this is still beautiful Paris. Other big pluses: - food quality is really high in Bonnie. We went for dinner and breakfast. Both great. Dinner buzzy, and possible the most beautiful breakfast room views imaginable. In summer.... wow. - rooms are extremely high quality fit out. Bed is incredibly comfortable. Just be aware that there is now bath or desk even if a room which could accomodate it - staff are charming and very well trained. - access by car is easy. Very few people will be driving (but I was). Access is super simple, and the valet parking v reasonable (about Eur40) - I didn't use the gym or pool, but they looked amazing by Paris hotel standards - I loved the design concept of the hotel. It is young and modern without being like a W (which I don't like... trying too hard) I strongly recommend. Thank you SO/ Paris.

We stayed six nights at this fairly spartan property that was fitted with basic room attributes including a small refrigerator, a hair dryer and a tiny safe. We requested a coffee maker and received a hot pot with instant coffee. Getting an iron in the room proved a bit of an ordeal. The room was clean and the beds were quite good. Hotel staff was uniformly convivial, accommodating and helpful with exception of an encounter with the night manager (more on that later). Only one low voltage outlet in the bathroom was provided that could power an electric razor. My daughter brought a dual-voltage curling iron and hair straightener that could not be used in the bathroom due to lack of an electrical outlet. Staff ultimately provided an extension cord to be strung from the nightstand, and over the bed that my daughter was able to use to reach a wall mirror in the bedroom. We had the misfortune to be at the property during the annual Pride celebration at Place de la Republique directly in front of the hotel. My wife has mobility issues and we had to push through hundreds of drunken celebrants to get to the only entrance to the hotel. Scary stuff getting pushed along by a mob where my wife could have fallen and been trampled. I understand the Pride celebration is a public event but its a scheduled event that the hotel could have alerted clients to and made provisions to have opened a guarded entrance on the backside of the building away from the inebriated mob. With an early morning departure to the airport, I went to the desk the night before to check out so we could leave quickly the following morning. The front desk clerk advised that the hotel had my card on file and my e-mail address so they would send me the bill thereafter with nothing additionally to be done the next morning - just drop the key and run. As we were leaving early the next morning the night manager told me that I couldn't leave because I hadn't settled my bill. He inferred I was skipping out without paying the bill. I recounted the discussion I had the previous night and he repeated firmly that the bill needed to be closed out before we could leave. It was an uncomfortable encounter that was unnecessary. Somebody needs training here and its not the client. In summary, I'd say this property lacked many expected elements for the price point and as such could only describe it as providing moderate value. The lack of provisions to accommodate client access during the Pride celebration and the check-out snafu made it seem that they were somehow new to the game.

I approached the receptionist on my way back from my activities and inform him there was no fan in my room as I had really suffered the night before, no fans in the room ,just one window , even when left opened no air/ breeze came in at all. Anyways I approached the receptionist and informed him there was no fan in my room: Firstly his response was : there aren’t fans in the rooms and asked me to correct myself by requesting for a fan instead( this is a lie to start with , I have 2 rooms booked (my friend & I) and the second room has a fan ) . I immediately corrected myself and requested for a fan instead, he kept on going about how I said it like the fans were readily in the room but I needed to requested them instead. He made me request for a fan 3 times all along I was patient with him and I obliged, but he kept talking so I banged the key on the desk as I was out of patience after requesting 3 whole times already!! For the 4th time!!! Anyways the man called “Yanis”refused to give me a fan because i banged the key on the desk, asking me to speak to him with respect, I reminded him that I have asked 3 times already but he won’t stop yapping on how I should have phrased or worded my English.. At this point my sister had to intervene, she insisted that I had been polite all along , I mean how do you make a guest request for an item 3 times whilst you sit on your high horse / chair demanding respect and telling me how to phrase my words.. I asked if I could speak to a manager ( clearly there wasn’t one) which he confirmed there wasn’t one . He then told us to leave the reception area as he was done talking to us.. I suppose he was able to get away with this because we were both females, I doubt he would do this if it was a male customer.

I was looking for a home away from home for my two-week stay in Paris the first two weeks in November 2023. As I was reading the reviews for several hotels and a number of reviews from single women liking the Grand Hotel Francais, the reviews from the single women resonated with me as well as the complimentary laundry service. I can't say enough about this wonderful hotel. When I arrived there was a bottle of wine, chocolates and a note placed on my bed. Very nice touch. The Grand Hotel Francais is a boutique hotel with queen-sized rooms that are tastefully decorated. My room had a luxury shower with spa body jets. The towels were changed every day even though I would hang them to be reused. This was the first hotel I stayed in in Paris that provided washcloths. I usually bring my own. There is a breakfast room where you have the option of choosing breakfast with your room. Complimentary snacks and wine were provided every evening in the lobby. Also, very nice touch. The Nation metro station with several connecting lines is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel and the single-line station Rue de Boulets is about a block away. I sometimes walked to Rue de Charonne to take the #76 bus that eventually ran down Rue de Rivoli towards the Louvre. If you look at a list of things to do by arrondissements there isn't much sightseeing in the 11th arr. You can enjoy Paris as Paris because the neighborhood isn't overrun with tourists so prices are a little cheaper and there are a variety of good cafes and restaurants in the area. The hotel can give you a list. No hotel runs efficiently without good staff working to hold things together. The hotel manager Si Hocine was a pleasure to talk to especially when I told him the metro police made me pay a fine for having the wrong ticket. The staff were very helpful with answers to my regular questions and went above and beyond to help when I encountered problems with a package I mailed home from another city in France. Amina was very helpful with emailing, copying, and translating for me. I approached the receptionist on my way back from my activities and inform him there was no fan in my room as I had really suffered the night before, no fans in the room ,just one window , even when left opened no air/ breeze came in at all. Anyways I approached the receptionist and informed him there was no fan in my room: Firstly his response was : there aren’t fans in the rooms and asked me to correct myself by requesting for a fan instead( this is a lie to start with , I have 2 rooms booked (my friend & I) and the second room has a fan ) . I immediately corrected myself and requested for a fan instead, he kept on going about how I said it like the fans were readily in the room but I needed to requested them instead. He made me request for a fan 3 times all along I was patient with him and I obliged, but he kept talking so I banged the key on the desk as I was out of patience after requesting 3 whole times already!! For the 4th time!!! Anyways the man called “Yanis”refused to give me a fan because i banged the key on the desk, asking me to speak to him with respect, I reminded him that I have asked 3 times already but he won’t stop yapping on how I should have phrased or worded my English.. At this point my sister had to intervene, she insisted that I had been polite all along , I mean how do you make a guest request for an item 3 times whilst you sit on your high horse / chair demanding respect and telling me how to phrase my words.. I asked if I could speak to a manager ( clearly there wasn’t one) which he confirmed there wasn’t one . He then told us to leave the reception area as he was done talking to us.. I suppose he was able to get away with this because we were both females, I doubt he would do this if it was a male customer.

I was looking for a home away from home for my two-week stay in Paris the first two weeks in November 2023. As I was reading the reviews for several hotels and a number of reviews from single women liking the Grand Hotel Francais, the reviews from the single women resonated with me as well as the complimentary laundry service. I can't say enough about this wonderful hotel. When I arrived there was a bottle of wine, chocolates and a note placed on my bed. Very nice touch. The Grand Hotel Francais is a boutique hotel with queen-sized rooms that are tastefully decorated. My room had a luxury shower with spa body jets. The towels were changed every day even though I would hang them to be reused. This was the first hotel I stayed in in Paris that provided washcloths. I usually bring my own. There is a breakfast room where you have the option of choosing breakfast with your room. Complimentary snacks and wine were provided every evening in the lobby. Also, very nice touch. The Nation metro station with several connecting lines is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel and the single-line station Rue de Boulets is about a block away. I sometimes walked to Rue de Charonne to take the #76 bus that eventually ran down Rue de Rivoli towards the Louvre. If you look at a list of things to do by arrondissements there isn't much sightseeing in the 11th arr. You can enjoy Paris as Paris because the neighborhood isn't overrun with tourists so prices are a little cheaper and there are a variety of good cafes and restaurants in the area. The hotel can give you a list. No hotel runs efficiently without good staff working to hold things together. The hotel manager Si Hocine was a pleasure to talk to especially when I told him the metro police made me pay a fine for having the wrong ticket. The staff were very helpful with answers to my regular questions and went above and beyond to help when I encountered problems with a package I mailed home from another city in France. Amina was very helpful with emailing, copying, and translating for me. In the past, I've stayed in the 1st arr. but this time I'm glad I ventured east and found a new neighborhood in the 11 arrondissements.
