It is very true that a picture and an image tell their own powerful story! When my husband Guy and I arrived back at the Westin Hotel from Florence, Guy got down on the floor of the hotel reception on both knees to offer a prayer of thanks to Riccardo, the Head Concierge of the Magical Concierge Team. This is how grateful and delighted we were with the services of the Concierge team of Riccardo, Andrea and Silvia. Riccardo was unphased by us not having made Porter reservations for the Railway station. He said he would find a way to help for us with our large luggage. The combination of Riccardo’s skills and connections achieved a mini miracle; our taxi driver to Milan station had been briefed on how to secure porter assistance and the plan was executed with military precision. A young man appeared from nowhere to provide this assistance. This type of service can only be achieved by a Magical Concierge Team. Riccardo, Andrea and Silvia also scored perfection on our return journey from Florence to Milan. As the train arrived at Milan Central, Porter Andrea was holding up a sign with my name on it with the universal thumbs up signal. Watching this Porter lift two suitcases weighing around 20 kilos each from the overhead baggage rack as though they were a feather, was astonishing. Between them Porter Andrea and Mario, the driver of the chauffeur service ensured a seamless arrival back at the Westin. We recommend this Concierge team without any hesitation as the best.

I am a Titanium Elite Marriott member so I am very familiar with the brand. The fact this is considered in Marriott’s ‘Luxury Collection’ is an insult to all travelers. I expected a Luxury Collection Hotel to fit somewhere between a JW Marriott and the Ritz. This certainly did not. Every single JW Marriott that I have stayed at beats this place. Most Marriotts I have stayed at beat this place (at a much lower price point). Let’s start with all that went wrong. * Check in. We arrived a little after 2pm and check in is 3pm. Normally at a hotel this large, we have no issues checking in early, but fair enough. It wasn’t 3pm. We decided to go to the bar and the reception desk said they would call when our room was ready. Well, they didn’t. At 3:15, I went back to reception to check us in. Next issue was our room. * We entered our floor (3) from the elevator, and we walked into a heatwave. No A/C in the hallways FYI, but it’s just a short walk to our room, right? And then we got to our room… 80 degrees. Black out curtains pulled shut like we were in a dungeon. I did not open them because I did not want the heat from the sun. We lowered our thermostat to 68 degrees to see if it was our room that had an issue. However, as you can see from the picture in this review, the down arrow has been used much more excessively than the up arrow so we assumed based on the heat and the curtains being drawn that no one had recently been in our room because why on earth would it be 80 degrees if someone was staying here? So why could we not check in early? Not sure. * Then there was the bathroom. No fan in the bathroom and no AC vent. So either you showered with the bathroom door closed, and felt like you were stepping into a sauna after getting out of the shower. Or you kept the bathroom door wide open during the shower and you then raised the temp of the room by 3 degrees post shower. Pick your poison. The lowest our thermostat ever got was 74 degrees when we woke up in the morning pre shower. It would quickly rise to 77 post shower. We skipped housekeeping after day 1, see details below regarding why, and in doing that kept our curtains closed like we were in a dungeon and even after doing that, both days we returned, the temp was 77 degrees. See picture. * Safe issue: the morning after our first night, we had a 7AM train to catch so we were up early. As we were leaving to catch our train, we were going to stow some items in the safe. The safe did not work. See picture. I believe this means the safe needs to be serviced. Had a bellman or anyone actually shown us our room when our bags were delivered, we might have seen this upon first seeing our room, but we received no such orientation. Quite a different version of Luxury here. Clearly they don’t check the safes regularly or this would have been seen prior to our arrival. Now under a time constraint with the train, we took our valuables in a tote bag with us. That was not convenient. We went downstairs to rec

I want to give a favorable review of Hotel Teco because all-in-all, there's a lot to like about this property. Unfortunately, our experience was also filled with a fair amount of things we didn't like. The plus side of choosing Hotel Teco is that it's in a great location. You can walk to the Duomo in about 20-30 minutes, window shopping as you stroll down Corso Venezia. There is also a Metro stop about a block and a half away, with the Metro being rather easy to access. Breakfast is well stocked and the lady overseeing it all is extremely friendly and helpful . . . in oh, so many ways for she seems to wear many hats around the hotel. The hotel is obviously energy efficient, with motion activated lights coming on as you walk down a hallway, but this is both a plus and negative as sometimes the lights are slow to come on and the interior hallways can be quite dark if the lights are pokey. The downsides to our stay started with our arrival when the overly officious gentleman at the desk didn't offer any form of greeting. We gave him our name and said we knew we were early for check-in, but because of our 1:30 reservations for Il Cenacolo (The Last Supper), we were hoping to drop our luggage at the hotel and then check-in when we returned. After shuffling through many papers and examining a list or two, he acknowledged our reservation and did allow us to stow our bags in the breakfast room, which was not secure in any sense. About this time, a huge rain started outside and we asked the gentleman to call us a cab. He explained that it was very difficult to get a cab during a storm and all he could do was try to call through the computer. When I asked how we could get to Il Cenacolo if he couldn't contact a cab, he had no answer. He didn't seem very concerned about trying to help. The sad part is the hotel doorman across the street was actually more helpful to my husband trying to find a cab than the gentleman manning the desk at our hotel, and thanks to the other hotel, we were able to make our 1:30 reservation. On an up note, we did actually get the gentleman to smile by the end of the day, but it certainly would have been more appreciated with our first step through the door. And we definitely had better interactions with the two ladies managing the front desk during the rest of our stay. While our room was clean and comfortable overall, it did need a little TLC: the ceiling of the shower needed to be repaired, the information screen on the wall didn't have any of the detailed information it was supposed to be used for, 2 of the 3 wall lights didn't work, the bathroom sink didn't empty well, there were a couple of small holes in my duvet cover, and a lampshade needed its trim re-glued. We would have preferred to have these basics taken care than the mood lighting option in the shower that is highlighted as one of the technological updates. Did Hotel Teco serve its purpose? Yes. We just wish it served it a little more graciously.

The hotel is located near Lima Metro station, which was fantastic for travelling around the city. Travel is inexpensive 12euros for 3 days unlimited travel metro, bus and tram. We had breakfast included during our stay, which was okay, it took the staff a long time to replenish the buffet breakfast. I´m not sure how it is like to stay at Ostelzzz for several nights, but I find it a very convenient solution for me who arrived around midnight in Milan, and already had leave from Milano Centrale by noon on the next day. I had a proper sleep for one night in a capsule. It really was a hostel, but with so much better privacy. Staffs were extremely kind and helpful. They gave me a welcome drink. Online check-in in advance made my actual check-in so much easier. Had everything I needed, incl breakfast, towel too. Clean and well-organized. Breakfast was simple, but more than good enough for me. I wouln´t hesitate to choose Ostelzzz next time.

Absolutely fantastic stay, Would 100% recommend. Great location only two minutes from P. Venetia metro, in a very nice area with plenty of coffee shops. We absolutely LOVED our stay and we’re so happy with the room!! The owner is the friendliest gentleman with superb English, made us feel very welcome, recommended places to eat and guided us to the Navigli area which was fantastic for nightlife - we honestly couldn’t have wished for a better stay in Milan or a better B&B. Owner was very accommodating when we checked out at 8am and realised we’d left items in our room - he came down and met us instantly with a big smile. Overall a fantastic, historic, unique building in a very safe neighbourhood. Will be back when we visit Milan again. Thank you!!!
