Chobe River Lodge

Chobe River Lodge has direct access to the river. From the terrace you have a beautiful view over the garden to the river. The warthogs tell you "although you are in a civilized environment here, it is still wilderness". The rooms are nicely furnished and offer a lot of space. All openings in the rooms are secured with fly screens, so there is no need for a mosquito net over the bed. We found this to be very pleasant. It would be very nice if all rooms had a safe, but that can certainly be arranged :-) The service is very good, you always have the impression that everything is very well organized. The food is very tasty and plentiful. A great and interesting pool with nice loungers invites you to cool off. The tour offer of "Wild Horizons" was fabulous with our guides BK (aka Botswana King :-)) and Tefo. Were we already flashed by the boat tour with BK, we have to say that Tefo was the best tour guide of our 3-week tour. The man is the hammer! Three game drives through the park with him and none was like the other. His expertise and commitment were great!

Such a wonderful place with beautiful interior and a super service. Breakfast and diner are first class. The luxury of talking a short walk down the garden and getting on the boat for the trip across the river is unique. River cruises with an excellent guide and adapted to our needs. If you like a lodge with limited room number, super service , next to the river and a wonderful environment : do not hesitate .

The place has a cool boutique feel and from the first minute you feel at home and looked after, everything is under control. We had a full board and safari programme which was perfectly managed everything worked like clockwork and the care and attention of everyone was as good as it could be. Go!

Situated on the banks of the Chobe River in Northern Botswana, the lodge offers many activities, including river boat cruises, game drivers and flights over the river. Ideally located for a day trip to the Victoria Water Falls. The boat pilots are knowledgeable about the best animal and bird siting's points. The curio selling points are a safe short walk from the Lodge. The rooms are well presented with, some having a view of the Chobe River from the balcony. Warthogs were seen grazing from our balcony, and the sounds of hippopotamus calls were heard at night. There are specially adopted rooms for disabled guest. The buffet dinners and breakfast are fit for royalty, with at least one warm venison served in the evenings. The sun set view from the bar does justice to the saying to have sundowners. The Botswana people friendliness is embedded in the staff of the Lodge.

Stayed for 4 nights. What a buzz.,beautiful decor, stylish. Beautiful. A dream of a place . Stunning.modern decor. Comfortable.not to be missed. A great,place. After a day of game drives exceedingly comfortable, beautiful y stylish . Food excellent., staff superb.food . Plenty of it

Everything about the place is awesome! The room, the staff, and the food exceeded our expectations! You have your meals and at. a beautiful long dining table with other guests. The meals and wine are of the highest standards using fresh, local produce. And, did I mention the view? Wow!

This is one of the most beautiful designed lodges still for me in Chobe ,luxurious but affordable. The chef is adding so much value, room big, property on the river and beautiful.Very nice boat cruise and game drives into Chobe .Also did a Vicfalls day trip with them, thanks to Anja and het staff .

Although accommodation was satisfactory, the manager completely ruined our experience. She was rude and unaccommdoating. Other than on arrival we never saw her again. Our entire experience was like being back at boarding school. Furthermore there was theft from our vehicle, the 24hr security the lodge claims to have was unable to assist, or the lodge simply refused to allow us to see the footage, either way the managerwas extremely rude and unhelpful regarding the theft . The manager should not be dealing with the public with her rude and abrupt approach to management. There is a massive lack of outdoor facilities, 1 table and 4 chairs if you are lucky. Overall a very disappointing stay and certainly would NOT recommend Chobe River Lodge to anyone.

I stayed at this exceptional boutique lodge as part of a 14 day trip through Botswana and could not have ended my trip at a more perfect location, the lodge has been newly renovated and is under new management, it is perfectly managed from the time that we arrived we were greeted with a cool refreshment towel and an amazing ginger cocktail to the end where all the staff including the amazing Anja assisted us with our luggage was just amazing. We stayed in a river front room, the rooms are spacious and clean, the game viewing is out of this world and then the best part of our stay... The food, I am vegetarian, and Anja took the time to go through the menu with me every day and created absolutely sublime vegetarian meals. I just wanted to write and say a massive thank you to this team for creating what I thought would be a once in a lifetime experience for us but after this stay I have already booked to stay again next year April! Thank you Anja for always being so helpful and your team one can see that time and effort has been put into this lodge to create this magical place!
